it has an engine!
I only have what screenshot I saved, not the file. I had it backwards, 3.55 auto has the best first gear. 3.73 is best after in terms of straightline power.

The manual Camaro is a bit underwhelming to be honest. The A8 though is scary.

EDIT: I think you're a bit surprised because if you do gear sweeps, from 2000 RPM to redline, the Mustang comes out more equal. However, if you're going from redline shift to redline shift, it isn't as close to the Camaro.
You beat my edit. I thought the manual mustang vs the auto a8 would have been a bit closer to be honest. Not a lot though. However the manual camaro definitely is underwhelming. Explains why the a8 camaros are the only ones getting their faster times. Same cant extirely be said for a6 mustangs vs m6 mustangs though.

That's what I thought too! Looked it up and shit, their 1SS w/ the dual exhaust is light ass hell damn. But I can see a fully loaded 2SS being close to 3800 lbs.

Guys are you considering the fuel weight as well? Did that car have full tank of fuel? If not i have bad news, cause camaro actually has 19 gallon fuel tank capacity which is close to 120 lbs!

Normally 1ss weights around 3670 to 3680lbs with full tank of fuel.

Agree to disagree Hack. There is a pretty big difference between a non PP and SS. We have both here at the dealership. I get to drive them back to back. Big difference. I do like the non PP though. It's pretty comfortable.
So you haven't driven them on the track, but you are confident that you know...

I'm not surprised.

My guess the tank is 1/4 or less. 19 gal is about 115lbs.

I drag race often. My experience with the manual and A8 SS that I test drove was. It had a cool exhaust. And still had the same shitty interior and sight lines of the 5th generation Camaro that I traded in on my Mustang. I didn't get this magical vib that others got performance "Feel" wise. Press the gas to hard leaving a light. And both cars spun tires. Exit an on ramp at normal speeds and both cars felt confident. I guess my seat of the pants dyno is not a calibrated as some others. But for me nothing is apparent til the cars are line up in some type of completion with timing equipment. A .3-.5 at the drag strip is a huge lead for the camaro. But how many people can say that "felt" like an 11.9 run before they actually get their timeslip and be dead on? Apposed to a 12.2 run? I can't feel a .4 second difference in a car. I've made 500 passes in most of the time. I cant really comment to much on handling. Because I'd probably drive both cars into a field.
The overexaggerated claims in this thread crack me up. I test drove both cars back to back, and this was my first time EVER driving high HP RWD (besides my buddies stage III cammed/bolt on 5th gen Camaro which felt like a Turd for having 450whp) and I can tell you there wasn't this HUGE difference between both of the cars like people try to make it out to be. These cars only perform different when you start looking at things on paper. In reality they aren't THAT far apart, on the street it's even neglible. People make seem as if the Camaro makes the GT look like it's sitting still.

I think most of the people who feel the difference are people who test drive or own a manual gt and are impressed with the auto a8 in the camaro. Lets be honest here, relaxing and hitting a gas pedal while holding two hands on the wheel and the computer does all the magic for you vs "ohh shit i need to shift, damn it I can't shift that fast and why my rear tires are slipping and why can't i control this damn clutch moment" is totally different! It depends on the driver and tires ofcourse. I test drove a manual ss and didn't feel any difference. Going from 3.55 auto to an ss a8 auto may feel the same as well.

they said 1/8 tank. The camaro is almost dead even with GT per trim level. I weighed my car after the lighter wheels and exhaust and it came in at 369X (forget exactly) for a GT PP Premium with no other options at just under a full tank. MAYBE 7/8.

Because a GTPP and 1SS is about $1,000 apart. It's the closest we can get to performance and price.
MSRP?

I got a base PP for $30,995. I've not heard of anyone getting an SS that low. MSRP is MSRP but what they actually sell for is the only real truth. If they're selling 1k apart that's a different story..but I haven't seen that to be the case.

MSRP to MSRP is the only fair comparison.

If you get a GTPP for say..32,500 out the door and someone else gets a 1SS for 31,850..does that mean the Mustang was more expensive all along?

No, it means you got a better deal, which can vary wildly.

Unfortunately, There will be a big influx of Camaro owners to this sight. Since they discounted Camaros 20%. They'll be here magazine articles in hand quoting stats like crazy. Oh well:shrug: welcome aboard new members. Try to remember where your at and not everyone here thinks Camaros are the greatest cars on the planet like you. We'll all get along just fine if you keep that in mind.:D
