New Bosch Icon's Stuttering/Juttering

Brand new 2019 GT, 2700 miles. I noticed the stock wipers were leaving streaks, and after checking forums decided to go with a set of Bosch Icon's. Before any one asks, the windshield is thoroughly cleaned, RainX'd ect. First rain after installing the Icon's last week was today, and immediately they are both shuddering around the top of the window, skipping, what have you. Did I get a bad set or what the hell is going on?

I’m sure I recall a long time ago, BMW specifying a angle that the wiper should be relative to the screen and even having a tool to check and correct the angle if necessary.

Might be something as simple as that ?

Sometimes Rain-X and wiper blades do not get along. Honestly your OEM's should have lasted a lot longer.

In my experience, Bosch aero twins and rain x work well together, and even that may be car model dependant - I can’t comment on any other combination sorry

Maybe OP just got a bad set. I wonder why the OEM set went bad so quickly.

I guess there’s lots of variables that could play a part, even down to things such as environmental factors and even the residue some wash products might leave behind ?

I used to buy BOSCH blades for years, for all of our vehicles, but something with the BOSCH compound has changed - because every set I bought had started doing the same exact thing... stuttering, skipping, streaking etc...

I said F-it and decided (on a complete whim) to try a set of the WalMart RainX blades... yea, yea, jeer me full tilt and yes I DID just put WalMart and RainX into the same sentence in this reply....

HOWEVER, my goofy purchase surprised the shit outta me, because the RainX blades actually cleaned better, lasted longer and have not squealed, chirped, stuttered, streaked or have prematurely worn out... PLUS they are half the cost of the BOSCH.

The RainX blades have been on my 2018 S550 for a year now and we have the same on our 2016 CX-5... on both vehicles, the blades work great.

Mine are working great on my car and I didn't notice it when I installed mine, but I'll always remember my first set of RainX blades that I installed...Brand new and skipping like no other when it started raining, forgot about it each time and the third time or so that it rained and they skipped, I looked closely and noticed they were falling apart! Turns out RainX blades come (or used to at least) with a protective plastic blade sleeve that needs to be removed too.

Never had an issue with Icons on any vehicle. They do have a left and right blade even when same length. You might make sure you have the correct side blades.

I bought the same wipers, and had the same issue.

Just stick with the OEMs, there's nothing better.

I have the same issue, on my 2019 GT. It appears to be not enough tension, leaving slight water streak. Let me know if the Bosch works better -- I'll switch too.
