Over the past couple of weeks or so, I've noticed a brand new Coyote engine sound that previously was not heard. It is in no way like that of the BBQ tick (which I have sporadically, and hasn't been an issue), it is a higher-pitched sound that is not random like the tick but seems to be a 1:1 ratio with the exhaust pulse.
This new sound seemed to coincide with an oil change that I got at Ford because before the change I had never heard this before. I just checked my oil dipstick (engine is hot) and found that oil goes all the way up to the FoMoCo logo on the stick, much higher than the top hole on the stick, which from my knowledge should be the hot-fill line.
In the video attached, you can hear the sound faintly, it is much louder in person though. I don't know a source for it, so it's hard to capture the audio over the normal operating sounds. If you listen closely though you'll hear a faint higher-pitched wooping sound, like the exhaust pulses at the end of your tailpipe at idle, a "woop-woop-woop-woop" rather than the BBQ ticks distinct "click-clickclick-click". It's best heard right in the opening of the video, but then I move seemingly farther from the source and it gets quieter. You can also hear this sound as almost an even, not sporadic, clicking with every rev at idle inside the cabin.
Does anyone else have this noise or had it previously and found out what it was? Should I go back to the dealer and demand a new oil change since the last one seems to be vastly overfilled?
