YUp. This is why my advice is to find one that is already built in a dealer stock and swoop it up because you’re gonna be waiting a long time otherwise .. honestly who wants to have the GT 500 delivered in the winter ?
BINGO !

"strange" noise
Jeff: This question came up not long after the first 2020 deliveries. It sure seems like it's coming from the rear of the vehicle but I don't think anyone has come up with the source yet. If they have, my apologies but my bet would be on the fuel pump. Seems they all duit as it has been mentioned many, many times.

Thanks KB, I did a search on the "site" for "strange sounds/noises" and nothing came up. So, my apologies for bringing it up again.

Off the delivery subject but has anyone with 2021 GT500's noticed a "strange" noise coming from there parked car? Several times, I have been in the garage and have heard a noise coming from what seems like the rear of the car, like some electrical motor kicking on (almost like a gas tank fuel pump sort of sound). I don't have the "fob" in the vicinity of the car, so it can't be sensing that and turning something on, so not sure what the noise is. Just curious?
Yes, my 2020 does this.

Very sure it's the fuel pump. Usually runs to pressure up the system in response to a cue such as opening a door. However, there are times that it seem to do it "out of the blue".
Might explain why the battery get low in a week or two, if you don't have it on a maintainer.

Yeah I hate to do it, and have second guessed myself several times, but I'm coming out 8k more than what trade in value was. Extra money to put down toward a 500, but hardly any availability for one at msrp.
I hear ya man but going from a GT to a Shelby? It's a no brainer if you can swing it! Miss my old my 2013 5.0 and thus the reason I've been looking for a Shelby as of recently. I did find one for MSRP in Louisiana but I wouldn't deem it as "brand new" since it had 58 miles on the odometer. I offered them 5k less MSRP but they didn't bite.

I'm working a deal right now on a base with Rapid Red paint, exposed carbon fiber, white over-the-top vinyl stripes, and technology package. They wanted a 5k markup but are willing to knock off 1k if I finance thru them. Still debating on whether or not to pull the trigger...

Definitely something going on to maintain something whether it’s fuel pressure otherwise I’m just curious as to what will be the need for fuel pressure to be maintained or whatever else is going on but mine definitely does it out of the blue just like you said

I only had my car for 2 days before it went to PPF, ceramic, etc... where it has been for the past 5 weeks. So not sure if my car does it. BUT my 19' Raptor did it.... ALL THE TIME! There was a answer to this question over on the Raptor forums. Can't remember exactly. But it was a "normal" sound and/or operation for the fuel pump/system from what I recall.

Sounds about like my experience. Had car for 1 week and took it to shop for 2 week appointment. 5 1/2 weeks later, I got it back! I had to wait 2 weeks for the ceramic to fully cure before I could wash it. Wednesday night was the first wash and damn does that car look amazing! It was definitely worth the wait. I put the JLT cold air intake on it last night. Looking forward to putting some miles on it this weekend.

It is in stock. I am debating on flying up there and driving it back (550 miles) or having it shipped for $600. A flight ticket is $180 bucks for 7am tomorrow morning. They offered to pick me up from the airport too. Could complete half the break-in period in a single day and get to enjoy the car for the holiday weekend. Very tempting!

WOw, exciting! If it’s not a big deal I would be inclined to drive and pick it up in person -perhaps they will split the cost of your fuel round-trip but either way a standard delivery experience Will be had and you can make sure they don’t do stupid things like drill your front bumper or destroy the window sticker :).

Were you able to pay only 4k extra?
