I got my new car about 2 weeks ago and recently had it into a detail shop to get it ceramic coated. They called me after they finished the polish and let me know that it appeared that 7 of the 11 panels of the car were touched up. The doors and back panels measures about 89-92 microns which appears average. But everywhere else on the car was around 200-472 microns thick. There is obvious orange peel on parts of these panels as well. There is signs of sanding on top of the car near the edges of the roof. Has very clear straight lines under the clear coat. The detail shop measured the hood on a family members car which is a 19 GT and it was 102 microns vs my 474. Just seems beyond tolerances to me and the fact you can see parts that were sanded. Dealership claims that there was no damage or anything done to the car when they received it. I went up there Saturday and the Service Director said, it looks fine to me. I am supposed to go back this week to have someone from their body shop measure the paint. Just wondering if this is something I can even fight or if it's a lost cause.
