I am First Responder, and have scoured the internet for ideas of where to keep my guns in the Mustang. Got a good magnet for trips so that I don't have to keep my CC poking into my back or waist, but usually have to keep other "equipment" in the car also. When I had my F150, they had an armrest safe that was great and secure to keep stuff in, but looking for something like that for either the trunk, back seat, or under seat area. Anybody come across anything?

I know this has been discussed before, but the options are very limited.

I was hoping to find or build something that would allow a gun to be stored where the car book or info pouch is stored in the glove box.

If you find anything, please let me know! You might have better luck posting in the firearms section: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/forums/politics-firearms-religion.244/

I looked for 7 hours last night while working OT, and found 2 options for the spare tire well. First one is a Chinese safe but can't find a way to get it shipped over without costing an arm and leg, plus looked a little cheap. Second was an old jeep item from the early 70's, hard to find (only found 1 online) and might need to be rigged up.

I think my first option is going to be the heavy duty magnet and still looking into my "Backup and gear" option

After having a long talk with Credit Card Company, I am either going to be a MacGyver of hiding stuff, or a total IDIOT, but I found a cheap tire well safe out of the UK, kind of like the Chinese ones, and only paid $155 for it. I am hoping to be able to bolt it down like the spare tire. I got the 18 in tire size, so I will have to report on how bad of an idea this was, or how freaking lucky i got. I will keep you posted.

For short periods, I used to put my G-lock in the seat-back pocket. But that's not an answer for vehicle storage.

FWIW, I keep my PT-140 in the glove box or the center console. The glove box is a manual lock, the console is locked with the remote. It is a challenge finding a proper place to store a weapon, I still need to see if my Mossberg ShockWave will fit in the door pocket. Even if it does, that probably isn't practical.

Well the spare wheel safe being sent from China already failed!!! They tried to charge me $195 to my CC for shipping when it was said to only be $9 shipping. (Which I knew was wrong) So the search is back on for a safe!

Putting a safe under the rear seat bottom cushion would be good. But that is not easily accessible. If we could design hinges at the back of the bottom seat cushion and a key lock accessible from the drivers seat that would be problem solved.

Maybe we could even get the Mossberg under there too.

So here is what I came up with for now. Magnet holder is for when I am in not so good neighborhoods, other than that, it is holstered in driver car door in a CYA holster. The safe was a old gun safe that I will have back up, just need to put foam so holstered gun is not rolling around with back-up magazines.
