The manual says there is a fuse tap but there isn't one in any of the bags and it looks like it should be attached to one of the harnesses but it's definitely not. I'm looking at page 58 of the manual if anyone can help. Thanks

Should be apart of the intercooler pump harness. you remove a 15amp fuse and plug into the harness fuse opening.

Yeah it's not spliced into the harness anywhere. I'm wondering if they changed it recently. Did yours have 1 fuse with each relay? Mine has 2 fuses and 2 relays that mount together. I'm hoping that's new and the fuse tap is no longer required.

Interesting, mine was apart of the harness and I just installed it last week so I doubt it's anything new. Can you post a picture of the harness and what you're talking about.

Fuse tap is used for "Competition" version kits. Complete get triggered by the IMRC circuit. So they are 2 different versions. Look at your packing slip in the wiring bag, it's marked which version.

You need to follow the trigger wire. All kits with intercooler pumps and fans need fuses and relays.

So for those of us with the Competition Kit, are we to tape off all (4) connectors at the back of the block since we will not tap into the IMRC circuit?

Also, can you please confirm the proper connections for the harness included in the Competition kit (pictured below). To me it looks like we have the fuse tap to replace fuse 44, and the eyelet connected to that is ground. I believe the other eyelet with the crush washers are also ground. I believe I mount the relay and fuse, and connect the final gray connector to the Intercooler Pump.

I tapped into the IMRC so my fans would turn off and on as soon as I turn car off and on. I did not want them to run after.

Looking at your signature it looks like you have the Complete Whipple kit. You tapped into the IMRC because that's where the Intercooler Pump harness plugs into.

We have different harnesses. I'm looking for confirmation from Whipple on this. Aparantely it's not just injectors and tuning that differentiates these two kits.

Correct but I had the old wiring harness before when they continued to run so I had to splice into it and run new pigtail to IMRC so ignition switch would control fans and not temps. I still tapped into fuse box but also ran to IMRC. There are two plugs back there and I forgot which one I had to plug into.

You use the fuse tap as you mentioned, the eyelet in the same loom only 6" away goes to the positive stud (I used the one closest the battery, there are 3) under the fuse box cover and the second eyelet is grounded with an existing ground wire on the shock tower.

Yes, tape off all 4 plugs that used to connect to the factory intake.

This was the original setup before the IMRC was used but you still have a complete kit. Only the complete kits are setup to control a trigger using the IMRC. Competition kits are not repurposing the IMRC in the tune to do this.

Well, this is my understanding of it all with everything I've learned over the last 2 years.
