Hello all, owner of a 2015 Mustang Ecoboost Premium Fastback here. Can anyone tell me what the circled component in the engine bay is? Thank you!

It's clearly a Thing-a-ma-jig! No, no, wait, it's a Do-hickey!

disconnect so you can run on dyno without nannies

It turns off any kind of stability control and traction control. Even if you turn that off in the car, it somewhat kicks in when it needs to at times. When that is unplugged, it’s all you at that point. No computer helping you no matter what happens (which I prefer). I unplug it every time on the dyno and when I run it at the track

Thanks for the reply. I think an animal might have gotten into my engine compartment and chewed on it - that would explain why my traction control off light and stability control light won't shut off.

Do you have a part number for that particular component? Thanks!

I do not but I’m sure you can call any ford dealer and they will have that part number on hand for you.

First, welcome to the forum and congrats on S550 ownership!

Check out this thread, as the info within has been confirmed to also trigger the traction control, ABS or stability control lights:

Have you ever run regular daily driving with it unplugged?

Does the computer have a fit with it unplugged, set any codes, etc...

i.e. Is unplugging that connector (on any/all S550) a viable and harmless option for shutting down the nannies?
