So my gt (ruby red) had an incident with a yellow pole. The damage did not Crack the paint. Was more of a paint transfer. So are there any good products I can use to remove the yellow paint?

Also, more concerning is that it ever so slightly moved my rear driver side bumper (maybe fender? The panel right below the gas cap) how do I refit it?

If someone can tell me how to post pictures here il post a picture of the damage.

Thanks for any help. I can't believe my baby has a scratch :frusty:

Hi, I feel for you... still waiting for my Ruby Red GT. Anyway try some Prepsol (cleaning solution here in Australia) its pretty good at removing marks on paintwork without paint damage. There must be similar product in USA.

If it's paint transfer, a cleaner wax should do the trick.

Thanks for the responses, IL try that. Does anyone know how to realign the rear side bumper? Hoping I don't need a shop to do it

Any pics to help us give you more assistance?

Here ya go - go to this thread below and watch the clip regarding how to swap over to the Roush rear valance. It shows every aspect of the rear bumper cover fastener locations and hardware locations (screws), as well where to press to get the clips to snap into place.

It's a long video (but that's what fast forward is for), hopefully it helps to answer your questions.

Also here is this thread for you and others that includes detailed pics showing how to fix any rear bumper cover panel gaps:

here are some close up photos of the damage, I think the paint transfer will come off easy. Do you guys notice how the bumper now sticks out about 1/8 inch or so? Can that be fixed relatively easily? or cheaply at a shop?

Press on the bumper cover along the seam - it should snap/click back into the bracket under it. You may need to use a little force on the cover, not a lot, just enough to pop it back into place.

Is the sheet metal above the seam dented inward? It's hard to tell from the pics.

There are no dents in the sheet metal. Just a light brushing of paint on the side and the bumper offset. Will be attempting to fix it in a couple hours

I took your advice and the bumper popped right back into place. If you look hard enough in the perfect light there is a tiny gap but not enough for me to care.

Was also able to get the yellow paint off the car. Only thing left to do now is buff out the tiny scratches.

All in all the home repair worked out perfectly. Thanks for all the help!

Coolmanfoo There's a green Turtle Wax spray can at the autoparts store that will take that off. Someone's large truck left a nice large black tire print on my ingot front bumper under the headlight and I was able to get it off easily. Just spray it on and wait a minute then rub it off. It also helped remove the two sided tape residue behind my stock plastichrome 5.0 emblems.

Found some pics from when I used it. Edit, it was a Turtle Wax spray:
