From my experience, I would never use the sealant, it will gum up the inside of your tire and rim
Destroys your TPMS sensor as well.

I like the patch kit idea CB mentioned (we've got the air compressor already...just don't put the dial to the 'slime' position).
I haven't got a flat for years and years (knock on wood). A patch kit, with needle nose pliers (using our supplied air compressor) will work.
Plus no unnecessary weight added (as would be the case with an actual spare tire kit).

The newer "slime" is water based and doesn't destroy the inside of your wheel/tire/sensor. It is not that fun to clean up, but it's better than the old. Not 100% sure if Ford is using this new chemical yet though.

Based on the necessity to replace the TPMS sensor if the goo is used... no.

Two posts up has it right though. Use the provided compressor with a $10 multi-use plug kit and you can get somewhere to patch or replace the tire.

A patch kit only works when in the position to use it. On the side of a highway or out in the middle of nowhere during a storm I'd much rather use the goo and get going again as soon as possible.

Interesting. I just watched the video instruction thing. I had no idea that you'd have to replace the sensor and valve stem after use. Those things are crazy expensive. I will be figuring something else out for sure.
