If one does not want to run with the unit maxed out, the head unit is too big for the application. Centrifugal blowers are designed to run at or near max impeller speed. Increased IAT, added cost, added complexity, tuning compromises and rapid loading / unloading of the blower are downsides. If one wishes to have more low end pep, PD blowers would be perfect for that individual.
If you're running pump gas you cant even max out a P1SC let alone a P1X lol. Agree to disagree. I was extremely happy with my wastegated setup. Gave me the best of both worlds, centri with similar power curve to a PD.

Not knocking the setup or anyone that does it. Do what you want. Im just focused on optimization and simplicity, and that doesn't fit in to my program.

If it checks a box, by all means do it. Plenty of ways to skin a cat.

You had methanol injection tho!

It was a work around that worked out!

That doesn't have anything to do with the wastegate setup, though. When I first setup the wastegate on 12psi I didnt have any meth yet.

It's definitely added cost and complexity, can't argue with that.

That's how we did it back in 2013.

Yes a straight cut procharger sounds like it’s grinding up small pebbles mixed with a 350 chevy that has a squeaky alternator belt.

Yeah don't wait the full 7000 mile requirement to change your SC oil. I change mine every 4000 miles. Just the sweet whine is all i hear..

Somewhat comparable, I went with a Vortech V3 JT, which is basically equivalent to a P1X, I wish I would've went with a V7 JT or V7 JTb, which is kind of in the middle of a D1X and F1.

So you maxed out the JT? Power/times?

917rwhp on E85 with a 3.12 pulley, and I went 9.2 @ 151. My car is a full weight 401a auto with mag ride. I mean every single option for a coupe too. Zero weight reduction. Not sure if it's maxed out, but I'm way passed rated impeller speed, even though my V3 is a 2019 unit with the "silently" upgraded slingers, but my IAT's are nuts at the end of a pass so, I'm sure I could push a little more, if I utilized meth, nitrous, or go a2w.

I'm also not running at a great track with decent DA. I'm sure if I can get some cool fall air, and some negative DA, it may have an 8.9 in it.
