My whipple kit should be coming any day. I have a 401a and pp1 car. Looking to get a boost gauge soon and have it all installed together. Which of the following options would you go with? Also, which boost gauge manufacturer would you go with?

Option 1: A-pillar mount. I would need the dual gauge mount since I have a tweeter with the B&O factory speakers. Would the tweeter fit in the opening?
Option 2: Vent mount. Will a standard gauge fit in the PP1 vent?
Option 3: Replace with eco-boost gauge cluster. I hear the boost gauge is not very accurate.
Option 4: Windshield/Dash mount similar to the ngauge

You don’t have a ngauge?
The tweeter has a separate mount location in edition to the gauge mounts. So a dual will have two gauge mount locations and a tweeter location

I was about to inquire about this same topic. I was leaning toward replacing my pp1 vacuum gauge with an ecoboost vacuum/boost gauge but IDK if that works well with whipple or not, also its kind of out of the drivers line of sight so it may be pointless there.

going this route is pricey and is calculated vs mechanical. The replacement is $250.

i went with a mechanical on the pillar combined with the ngauge for all other pids.

The autometer gauge pod has a spot built in for the tweeter and you can get single, double or triple pods

to mount the ngauge i had to make an extension out of 2” ID exhaust coupler and a dremel.

you pickup the boost reference off an unused npt port on the plenum near firewall.

I forgot to mention the finish on the autometer mount is not the same as factory. It is more textured and black. But since it is a full replacement and attention is at the gaugesI personally do not notice unless i explicitly look back and forth.

if you want the gauges to dim with interior lights and they are led i recommend picking up the autometer 9114 led lighting dimmer device. It takes switched 12v and ground and outputs a pwm signal for the led input on gauges. Better than trying to tap into factory wiring. You get power and ground from the passenger kick panel fuse box. It provides an independent knob to dim the gauges with. Just be careful if mixing gauge vendors with different type or qty of led lights as the intensity will vary between them.

I went with auto meter cobalt mechanical boost gauge. I placed it in my vent next to my NGauge. I worked ahead since I'm still waiting on my whipple.
