NAV after?

Do you specifically want the integration or just have NAV in general? You can buy a top tier Garmin unit for half of what Ford charges and it comes with lifetime map and traffic updates.

The biggest problem with adding nav after the fact is that you need a nav license. A simple reprogram isn't enough, you have to also install the license to use the maps SD card. That is what costs the most money.

I was not aware of that, interesting that the license would require a reprogramming/new APIM.

I have a nice Garmin, and I use waze daily. I had the thought that if it was a pretty easy less than $200 navigation, it would be nice to have. Agreed, a portable is much better, just doesn't look as clean. For $600 I'll keep the garmin:lol:

You can add Nav after, if you have the MFT. I used Fordipmods (google it), you send out your APIM and he does the rest. Works great and he is very easy to deal with.

Your car has everything needed to add nav; no new hardware needed, just get the APIM programmed by Fordipmods and you'll be good to go; he give you a OEM nav card too.

What do you charge to reprogram to add nav? Just curious for future reference.
