I just purchased VMS 17x10 back and 18x5 front rims from VMS. Tires will be Mickey Thompson ET Street R 305/45/17 and front, MT SR 28 x 6 fronts . I plan on heading south to race some in the winter, and am considering leaving the narrow SR fronts on the car for the trip. The car will also be used for daily driving around the Rio Grande valley in southern Texas while there. I know the narrow fronts will definitely not be a cornering tire, and if I choose to do this I will have to drive carefully on the street, since front end lateral traction will be reduced. I will be taking the stock pp1 rear tires and rims with for street driving, and change to the R tires for race day only.
Has anyone hear run these tires on the street as a daily driver, and what was your experience?

Not sure this will help but I can tell you about the tires. Rain, apply power with caution the rear will get loose, front runners will hold the road.

Driving across the country, you might have a better adventure on stock pp1 rear tires.

DD around town the MT can work fine, localy I still avoid wet weather with the tire.

It should not take very long to answer, yes or no to your question.

I’ve driven with mine on the street/highway for a few hundred miles with no problems. That’s a long drive from Minnesota to Texas and you might need to take evasive action when driving that far. It would be safer to ship the skinnies down to TX if you can and swap them over for daily street use when you arrive.

Sorry, forgot to mention the Stang is being hauled on a trailer behind my M. H. Thanks for the replies. Sounds like as long as I know and respect the limits of the SR, s I will be ok. That will sure help with storage!
