Now I need to get the tires. I'm going to get the EAGLE F1 SUPERCAR 3 tires from tirerack.
285/35/19 Front
they'll fit the minimum spec. 275/40 is an option too...
My current PS4Ss just were not enough for the track.
Motortrend's in-house race driver flogged the C8 on them and beat the C7 at Leguna recently. So they aren't all bad. :)

you can save 25% if you buy the SC3 thru USAA.

I decided to go with the Sport Cup 2s in 275/35/19 and 295/35/19.

I finally decided on this size combination for several reasons. I could have gone wider, but for looks I wanted to keep the front and rear diameter as large as possible and still have the front diameter larger than the rears. For performance reasons I didn't want to pinch or stretch the tires too much. This size combo seems to be in a nice sweet spot for my 9.5/11 inch rims. My hope is that this will also keep the balance of the car close to what it is right now, that is, a little under steer.

There are not a lot of choices in this tire size combo. I knew I wanted to go with more grip than the PS4Ss. So I went with the more expensive and shorter lived Sport Cup 2. In my search I did notice a couple of offerings that looked good for the future in the size. The Continental Sport Contact 6 and the Falken 660RT are both listed in this size, but seem to be unavailable for a while. The Falken in particular seems to be at a really good price/performance point. Depending on how long the Sport Cup 2s last and how I like them, I might end up with the Falkens next time.
Congrats on your choices for both wheels and tires. Sorry if I sounded like an ass in my first post but I'll admit to having a stick up my ass when it comes to tires. IMHO there is no reason not to find the optimum combinations for a 460HP rear wheel drive car (or any car for that matter). A lot of folks want the widest tire because they "look good" or bigger has to be better. But at the end of the day it's everyone's personal choice.

You've decided to go with the very best almost pure racing tire available. Understand that it is not really a tire that can be daily driven (unless you can afford to keep replacing them) and certainly not for poor weather conditions. That's what the PS4S are for. But on the track you are going to love them. Let's see a few pics when you have a chance.

It will fit safely, just not optimal. That's why I didn't get those wheels, only 9.5 front. Even though I am only running a 275 tire up front. Ended up staying 19". Tire selection for 285/35/19 and 305/35/19 are scarce.
Scarce compared to 275 maybe, 285/35 has good selection. 305/35 is pretty bad, which forces guys to 305/30 square.

And for track use I would try to go square, and certainly wouldn't skimp on the front wheel size.

Yea I may just end up with a Mich PS4S 285/35/19 front and a 305/35/19 rear in the MIch PSS.

FWIW, been running 285/19 on 9.5” w/305/19 on 10.5” (also Shelby wheels) for years, zero issue or complaint. There is no reason to shy away from stepping up the size, great options in the 285/305R19 range.

Dano the pics are amazing. That powder chrome color and your blue paint are fire!! I am looking to get those exact wheels myself and like you I mulling over what front tires to get. LOL

For the rears I am going with Nitto 555R2 305 35 19. I have a stage 2 whipple so anything less than a drag radial is worthless traction wise. I am not a track guy, only street and occasional drag passes. Is your car lowered at all? ( Currently mine is lowered BMR performance springs with 255 35 20 fronts and 305 35 20 rears and the tires are tucked up front and just barely clear the rears.) For the fronts I'm looking at Nitto G2 255 40 19. Anything taller I'm afraid with rub.

285 35 19 and 305 35 19 fits perfect lowered on BMR Performance springs. The ride is awesome, so much better than 20s.
