I have seen posts that argue both sides, but I feel the engine will respond without a tune. If you have ever run a bottle of 104+ in the tank, you will understand when I am saying IMO, I think Ford tuned these engines on higher octane fuel and the coyote computer's OAR (Octane Adjust Ratio or Advanced Octane Logic) will change advance based on the fuel you are using. Now I am not an expert here but run 104+ octane boost, it runs like it has more power, and throttle response in normal mode give you response like sport or track mode. I based my comment on this experience.

From my understanding of past threads on tunes and OAR, and documentation from the ProFlex Commander, the OAR will advance timing while the ProFlex Commander automatically adjust the fuel flow to compensate.
In just asking if it does or not. Haven't seen any real data and dyno tests from anyone running those.

+1. I’d love to see an accurate data log of before and after on this. How much actual timing will the stock OEM calibration allow running a proflex system ?? Very hard to find anything on this.

I see around spark advance of 23 on our 98 ( US93) on my stock gen 2. And in theory should allow up to 10 deg advance if the available octane is there for it to use ?? So if the proflex is adjusting the amount of fuel (e85) or a mix via injectors pulse width to get AF correct , then the OEM tune should allow as much timing until knock is detected or for given timing table at each rpm / load range ???

Maybe some of the brains trust on here will have a better explanation.

If you are tuned for 93 running 104 won't give you more power, you would have to re tune for that fuel.
