Haha I think we are back to the original theory.... For whatever reason, Ford locked out MyColor functionality from the base IPC even though the hardware looks to be identical. The easiest way to re-activate that would be to get a premium cluster. The BCMB swap would allow for full ambient lighting but only if the IPC (overall mycolor controller) is also installed.

If thats the case, ( i hope not ) would it realistically be worth buying a cluster for my color then? I see them pop up on ebay from time to time

I finally pulled the trigger and got myself a premium cluster, I'm happy that I got MyColor on the gauges but I'm disappointed that I had to change the cluster to get it to work! (still need to program the IPC to get rid of the BLIS)

The clusters have different part numbers:
BASE: FR33-10849-BF

PREMIUM: FR33-10849-EF

I'm looking to reprogram my original odo into this cluster if anyone can help me with that please!

Would this same cluster work on a MT car or is it a different part number?

I'll find out I guess. The one I order shows auto transmission and is the same part number above. If not I'll be putting it up for sale. Or sending back

According to the OEM parts listings, there are 2 types of clusters...mid & high.

I'm figuring mid is base and high is for premium.

So auto premiums would be part # FR3Z-10849-EA while premium MT would be FR3Z-10849-GA. (same for non-PP & PP)

Found this on eBay...from the looks of the part number, its probably for a premium MT car: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-2016-F...ash=item4894857a1c:g:7SUAAOSwHMJYEpng&vxp=mtr

And as far as I knew, reprogramming to correct the mileage is done at the dealer only...

The install was pretty straight forward, you need to pull the center dash trim then the lower piece under the the headlight switch and finally the sunglasses drawer piece - then unbolt what's left and take the cluster out (it has a connector on the top right corner)

So then you switched the board behind the clusters or the cluster itself?
You can install the new cluster itself, but in my case I had to change the speedometer paper on the new cluster with my original one because mine is in KM and the one I got was in miles

Oh okay then, One other question, everything has been running great except the odometer? The only way to fix that is a dealer reprogram right?

An auto cluster can be used on a manual vehicle. You can reprogram it to manual as built data and it will disable the gear readout on the bottom of the cluster.

Since the cluster is the control system for the mycolor, this plus the new lighting control module (and lighting hardware of course) should give full factory MyColor.

I was hoping that the functionality could be activated in a base cluster but of course Ford made it difficult.... Just like how they locked out activating Nav in the touchscreen. The hardware is capable of it but the software will not allow it to be activated via as built data.

Dealer cannot reprogram the odometer as far as I know. A few specialty shops online can do it but you have to send in the cluster to get it done.

Thank God. If they could, no used car regardless of age would have more than 2,000 miles on them on many lots. LoL
