Actually I have found that Ford's Custom Order Tracking (COTUS) works quite well for me and that is how I found out that it had shipped as I was checking it regularly.

After seeing what COTUS had shown on Tuesday I then called my dealership and had them confirm everything which they did.

:ford:
Great news! Good to know COTUS is on point, I think I'm checking it at least 5X a day with the hopes the next box will be checked.

At this stage, I don't even care when it gets here.. all of the excitement has been sucked out for various reasons. But I'll be glad to finally take delivery of it or another R in the future.

I gave up and stopped checking, lol.

I just figured I would wait for my dealer to call me. The disappointment in seeing “Awaiting Shipment” since March 20 was becoming too routine. Kind of a reverse psychology thing, like “a watched pot never boils”.

As soon as I stop checking, it will ship ;)

I'm sure one of the other what, 3 or 4 other GT350R's he owns, helped. LMAO.

Harry is a great guy. A role model, a pillar of the community, a patient man, etc. Level headed and one of the folks who inspired me.

Couldn't agree more.... without Tom getting me the connection with an outstanding dealership and Harry being there to help me get through the issues that cropped up on both of our late-in-the-process base orders, this car would not have been built the way it was.

I'll add to the list, though, that Harry makes friends extremely easily and seems to know everyone. He never ceases to surprise me with his connections and willingness to go out of his way for a fellow enthusiast.

Can't say "thanks" enough to both of those guys.

Agree on all points.

Has nothing to do with having several R's to drive while waiting for an R to arrive though, I think I'd be cool as a pickle waiting for R #4 or 5 to arrive so I found humor in that. ;)

I've been asked by a few people, including our friend at FRAP, if I'm happy with the paint, gaps, and general fit & finish of the car.
Jeez, he didn't reach out to me to check on my fit and finish. I think I'm starting to feel neglected. :D

Gentlemen, I certainly appreciate your kind comments and must say that I have tremendous respect for both of you and many others on this forum.

Having said that over the last ~50 years of purchasing Ford automobiles and in particular Mustangs from all 6 generations I have been very fortunate to have forged friendships with many fellow Mustang enthusiasts, along with a few select Ford dealerships on both sides of the border and many individuals at both FR and Dearborn who I consider friends as well.

During all of those years I have had a tremendous amount of help and cooperation from many people within our hobby along with great help from many individuals within Ford therefore I feel that the least that the I can do is to pass along some of my knowledge, experience and contact help/information from all those years to other fellow enthusiasts regardless if they are old like me or are just starting out in our hobby.

At the end of the day I feel a sense of duty to help others within our hobby just like the many individuals who have helped me immensely over a long time.

 :ford:

I began unwrapping JR265 last night. Started by taking off all of the protective coverings inside, as well as removing all of the shipping and dealer inventory decals. The various wrappers and protective coverings went into a small box and then I took the decals and paperwork over to the local Office Max and had it all laminated for twenty bucks. If you're interested in preserving any of the things that came with your car, this is an outstanding alternative - I recommend the 10 mil version, as it is very sturdy.

No surprises in the car, such as the assembly line fixtures that hold pedals and such, but I did find a few pieces of paperwork in the car, including the two on the left. The bottom one, with all of the codes, is similar to one that I found in my prior car, but the top one is something I haven't seen before - it appears to be an inspection checklist and the right margin has a time and test outcome stamp.

I also laminated a few other docs, including the order paperwork and the sales contract, just for safe keeping.

Love to see this stuff! I did the exact same thing with my 1996 Cobra, and when I sold it in 2006 the new owner was extremely excited to get all of it along with the documentation. When I sold the car, I was lucky enough to find that one guy that really appreciated all of this stuff, and it made me happy that he was getting the car and in the end, made it worth saving it all. The main thing was that in 2006, the 1996 model was old news to most.

I'm not sure I'll have to worry about this in my 2018 R, I'm convinced it's a long term keeper!

Looks like they did a top notch job sealing all the paperwork.
