My poor 2010 GT :(

No idea what happened, but was feeling nostalgic and did a quick search on the VIN (1ZVBP8CH7A5155019) of my 2010 Mustang GT which I'd done a lot of modding to before trading it in on a 2015 Mustang GT (PP1). I traded it in out of Tallahassee, FL and it somehow made it to Abilene, TX. Not sure if that was before or after being totaled sometime in November of 2019.

It always sucks to see a car you care about and put time and energy into get wrecked.

It happened to me with a Galant VR4 (predecesor to the Evo) that I sold. Did a bunch of work to it and the guy I sold it to thought he was a rally legend on a dirt road until he rammed it into a boulder.

I bought it already fixed, it rides perfectly. Is located in Honduras, Central America.
I still don’t know all the engine upgrades he has. If you can update me what you changed, that would be perfect.

THAT is definitley a wild story and to see the car go from here to now overseas - what a journey and it’s still going strong!

Being on multiple forums, a lot of the US salvage vehicles are bought and shipped overseas. Many are repaired and put back on the road. I always wondered if buying a salvage vehicle here and transporting it overseas was still beneficial and if there is any cost savings to getting a salvaged vehicle back on the road after the transport fees, any country fees, etc…

Do cars from here sell for a lot more overseas than what a seller could get here?

In my case, in Honduras it's very difficult to buy a new one since it's only available by special order; it's much cheaper to buy a salvage and repair it than to order a new one from the dealer.
