Has anyone had an issue where you cant seem to save a my mode?

I had it working, holding ok to save it, but I tried to change it, and now it doesnt seem to matter what I do, it doesnt seem to do anything, I cant get it to say that its saving and i have no my mode option using the toggle switch. I've checked and unchecked the my mode box, started and stopped, in park running, not running, it's probably something obvious but I cant figure it out.

I just wish I could replace my button used for changing the 15 radio modes to something as useful as My Mode...

It's not that obvious, but I also finally realized what I was doing wrong. If you select MyMode before starting the engine, it reverts back to normal. You just cannot start the engine in any exhaust mode other than quiet or normal. I had the MyMode set with sport exhaust. Now I change to MyMode as soon as the engine starts, and haven't had any issues with it anymore. Hope this helps others.

And yes, the car should just switch to normal mode if you select MyMode (or other) when starting. And we'd immediately figure out what was happening. But the damn thing just resets MyMode to normal settings, leaving us new owners scratching our heads what's happening. Ha ha.

Getting out of MyMode is not obvious unfortunately. I simply press the settings button and then select trip computer which then gets me out of the MyMode sequence.

I’m having issues though saving a MyMode setting. I completely understand that the MyMode drive mode feature were will effectively turn itself off when you restart the engine where it revert back to the Normal drive mode, however, the issue I’m having is that the MyMode is not saving my actual setting. So I go into MyMode, select what I want (e.g. exhaust to Race Track) and then hold down the ‘OK’ button to save the setting. It obviously saves it as when I come out of it and go back into it, it still shows the setting I saved. Problem is, as soon as I turn the engine off and restart, the MyMode setting is wiped and everything is back to ‘normal.’ So the exhaust setting that I had set on Race Track has gone back to normal.

Has anyone else had this issue? Or is there something I’m doing wrong?

Why the press and hold of the OK button. I do that to clear things, but never to save.

I may be wrong, but I don't remember doing that and like I said, when you do hold the button it is for clearing (like trip meter, etc.).

On my dashboard it says, directly under the individual settings (e.g. steering, exhaust, etc), ‘press and hold the OK button to save’ or words to that effect. It clearly says the ‘OK’ button though and when I do press and hold the OK button it brings up a bar that runs from left to right just like when I computer is saving something. So what button do you press then to save the MyMode setting?

I dunno, maybe I have been missing the little message to save! I've been disconnecting my battery quite a bit and maybe I haven't really been noticing not saving. Doh!

Have to check it out today...

My car has memory seats and I believe that when I saved the seat setting it also saved the MyMode setting if currently chosen as the default on start.
EDIT: My brain memory failed,, I am incorrect about the seat setting

Thanks CJ. I’ve looked at other threads and the issue I’m having has been mentioned before but I can’t seem to find any resolution. I’m just wondering if it’s a fault on the car or if I’m doing something wrong when I save it. I can’t believe it’s normal to have a MyMode feature where you can set individual settings but when those settings are then wiped every time you restart the car. What would be the point of MyMode otherwise?

I don’t have memory seats (UK cars don’t come with them inexplicably) so I assume that’s not an issue. As I said, I completely understand that the car won’t default to MyMode when it starts up but surely the settings within the MyMode mode should remain saved every time you start the car so that you just need to toggle to the MyMode drive mode.

Have you done a Sync master reset? If you have and it didn’t help try pulling the battery cable and let the car reset.

No I haven’t done a reset. Thanks Bikeman - I’ll give that a try. I presume therefore that you don’t have any problems saving your MyMode settings (if you have that drive mode feature)?

No, fortunately I haven’t. Good luck.
