I had a dealer accept X-plan pricing plus incentives for a factory order. I used that number as my starting point for my negotiations with the rest of the pack.
I might have been too lazy. I built one online and I knew the worst price it could be. Then I knew how much I wanted to pay and with the X Plan they were 3600$ under. So I didn't even negotiate more because they were lower than my expectations. When I'll take possession of it, I'll have myself a couple of free oil changes.

Yeah unfortunately the dealers here in Hawaii play hardball because we are a captive audience. The other part is whether the dealers here will honor my MCA membership and give me X plan pricing. According to Ford Partners website doing the same order I did back last year, I would get $1,500 cash back incentive, putting the price at 42k plus tax and license for an Oxford White 401A PP1 with the Showstopper Red interior like my first Mustang, 1991 LX 5.0 Oxford White with Scarlet Red interior.

The other alternative is another competing dealer has a 2019 Bullitt Hyland Green, Recaros magnaride optioned for 54k OTD. I’m thinking of using my 2008 Saleen as a trade in to get the Bullitt. I’m really torn on this one.......
I hope it works out for you. Look on the bright side, you only have room to do a few 0-100 runs before you circle the island and be back in your garage! :-)

LOL Oahu ain’t that small. Yeah I’m hoping things work out too. I’ve finally warmed up to the S550. My 2014 GT is the best one I’ve had so far. Just hoping the new model puts that wow factor on. Thinking of going a similar route with the new one with a positive displacement blower setup like my 2014. That one runs a VMP 2.3 and it’s a fun ride. So far reliability has been great on the 2014 using Amsoil at regular service intervals. I’m just wondering how much of a difference with the 3.73 rear end and the newer MT82 will be vs 3.31 and the older MT82 in the 2014.

Rambling on like a kid in a candy store......

Ordered a GT Premium AT, 401A, PP1, MR, B&O, Actv Exh in late Sept 2018. Scheduled for Prod Jan 16, with an EDD Feb 12. Stuck in Prod until March 18. So I watched the EDD count backward for over a month until the status changed to Awaiting Shipment with a new EDD of Apr 12, which is obviously not going to happen either. Supposed to go out by rail, but it looks like the nearest CSX terminal to Albuquerque is Memphis,TN, so I guess it goes the other 1000+ miles on a truck? Anyway, I'm willing to bet it won't be delivered 'til well into May. Isn't that about when the order books open for the 2020 model year? X-plan purchase and the dealer's had my $1000 deposit since Sept. 2018. Unbelievable!

Wow that’s pretty bad. My dealer took $2,500 and no contact since January when I got the vin and the window sticker. Will you be able to get your deposit back and get something off a dealer lot? Might be an option if you don’t lose the deposit.

Maybe, but then it wouldn't be exactly what I want, probably not even close, considering the rarity of PP1 with MR around here. Hate to admit I bought some new wheels mounted with Michelin A/S 3+, thinking the car would get here in winter. At least you don't have to worry about that in HI :sun:. Also picked up some minor items like hood struts and jacking rails. If the 2020 had significant changes, like if it was an Ecoboost 4, I'd cancel in a heartbeat.

The above is min which has been in transit for the last couple of weeks. My original delivery date was 3/10 then it moved to 5/10 now it’s N/A. This latest screen shot changed yesterday to the unknown delivery date. Presumably mine was affected by the steering wheel shortage but now I don’t know what to think. No response from the dealer.

No doubt that 56-day transit time to HI threw it off. I had vehicles shipped to and from HI back in the '80s (ships haven't gotten much faster since then) and I think it was 4 to 6 weeks from the time it got in queue at the port. Anyway, you'd think Ford or the dealer would be able to give you an idea of the en-route status -- I mean, we're talking about a $50K, serial-numbered item here, in a world where you can buy a 50-cent button from Amazon and track it all the way to your door.

Mine's not even "In Transit" yet. I'm going to drop in on the sales manager at my dealership again tomorrow -- that's the only way I ever get any answers (even if it's mostly lip service). Same as your dealer, they've never contacted me.

Wow, after reading some of these stories, I feel lucky to have my local dealer. My special order PP2 was quite a bit below X-plan and they didn't even ask for a deposit. Signed a sales order at the time of order for the agreed upon sales price less better of current rebates or rebates in effect at time of delivery. Was told probably 10-12 weeks. Took delivery 11 weeks to the day from when I placed my order. The right dealer can make all the difference.

True, after reading posts here and elsewhere, it does appear that the dealer can make all the difference if they are up front about their allocations and commodity restrictions, have the right connections, and care enough to keep tabs on special orders. Most obviously don't. Next time maybe I'll go to MO or TX to order a car!

Status on mine finally changed to "In Transit" after "Awaiting Shipment" for full three weeks. New EDD is April 30th (est 20 days) -- that'll be over 7 months. Now I need to go out of town so watch it come in while I'm gone. :headbang:
