My first truck was a 62 ford f100. I paid 7.75 for it. It did not run. I bought it from dads friend (dad a line mechanic at a ford dealership.
Red 292 Y block solid lifter cam and 3 on the tree.
I couldn't get the valves adjusted so I took rocker arms off and pulled the pushrods. They were bent. I straightened them as much as I could tapping with a ball pean. I adjusted valves and it ran.
I carried 3 5 gallon bucket of oil in the back just so I could drive it It drank oil.
Never let me down and was a great truck

My first truck was an '89 Chevrolet Silverado regular cab long bed. No a/c, crank windows, 6 cylinder. But it was 4wd and a 3" body lift, new wheels and 33" BFG's made a for a "cool" high school car.

My first “truck” was a used 1987 Full Size Bronco w/5.0. Then I sold it and bought a used 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser… didn’t like it too much - was very heavy for what it was…. Sold it and bought a used 1994 Full Size Bronco w/5.0. Engine blew on that Bronco, so I bought a complete Explorer “GT40” 5.0, built it up and stuck that back in the 94 Bronco…

Should have never of sold my 94 Bronco… seeing as what values are now, but aside from current market, both the 87 and 94 Broncos were great, tons of room inside and were beasts in bad weather…

My first truck was a new 1981 GMC 2WD shortbed 6 cylinder with a three on the tree…it even came with power steering as an option.

Most back then used arm power for the steering

First and only so far - 1988 Dodge Ram50 (rebranded Mitsu MightyMax). Bought it broke, got it running and it broke again so I sold it.

...actually, back in 2012 when I bought my wife a '12 Escape I had a
1999 Ranger Stepside.
They told me @ the dealer that they would allow me $750 off on
the Escape if I could provide proof I'd owned a Ford Ranger for 5
years. It just so happened that I had the registration card for my
Ranger in my billfold.
I had owned a 4x4 Ranger since 1988,

I owned an '88
a '90
a '94 Splash
another '88 Ranger
and then the '99
Before I bought the Camaro in '15, I searched high & low for a
Stepside Ranger 4x4 with a Regular Cab w/low miles.

I miss my old Ranger.
I don't like the new ones.........................................................:sunglasses:
