Video as promised.

Please note that this is just a test bed. The toggle will not be set out so far in the final version.

Update 2: I will be modifying my original design to have the toggle "snap" onto the pivot mechanism. This will allow for, wait for it, different materials for the toggles! The new design will allow for true billet aluminum toggle switches.

Traction control symbol version 2. Was trying to go with a more simplistic symbol for prototyping.
I like this extremely simple design and looks very nice.

Very nice! What I meant was the type of switch not the actual switch from the premium package model like this: http://www.onlinecomponents.com/swi...tag.com&utm_source=nextag&utm_medium=referral and then fit your printed switch over top of the toggle, but I'm not sure how the original switches are mounted to the board or if you can remove them to put a new style switch

Thanks! I see what you are saying now. Refer to post #47 on the previous page for an image of the circuit board. The buttons are just electrical contacts printed on the board. There is a rubber mat that fits over the contacts with molded points. These points act as both a conductive contact and the spring for the button. The rubber points are depressed when the button is presses thus completing the circuit on the board. There would be no way to install an actual toggle switch because of this design.

The toggle with the first revision of the attachment point.

First is with the toggle fully activated
Second is with the toggle at its resting position

Just wanted to keep this thread updated....

Not much progress that I can post these past few days. I have just been going through my models and assemblies and finalizing dimensions. I ordered some ABS filimant for my printer today to make the first full prototype. I hope to have this done by next week!

Why do you have the toggles angled downward in its resting position instead of straight forward like the premium models?

It's actually just like the Premium cars. Although the lever plane on the stock toggles is near parallel to the ground, they are actually angled downward relative to the plane of the center stack face.

First full prototype test print. This was a very low resolution (.3mm layer height) print just meant to test out various print orientations for each part. The best prints were then combined for the first functional test. It works! Next step.. high res PLA prototype. After this I will move over to the first ABS prototype.
