I know what you mean. I started ignoring just the most obvious trolls and while it's better for my blood pressure, I feel like I'm not seeing half the posts on this board.
Are there any moderators on this forum?

I believe there are 3 or 4 moderators on mustang6g.
However they don’t seem to check in on the GT500 section unless posts are reported.
(A couple were reported yesterday.)
I am willing to be a moderator in the GT500 section at least if that is desired.

Moderating is not an easy job, the most difficult thing is striking that balance of letting people mix it up vs. swinging the ban hammer every time someone's feelings get hurt.

The trolling can be tricky too, it's hard to determine intent, and to __not__ make assumptions about a user based on, for example, the car they own.

I see that is the case for me sometimes. But people who have owned a GT350 or GT and maybe wanting for a future one but does not own one now sometimes can get attacked by the buzzards. But people who intentionally start something is not really prevalent here, I do see a few. Maybe I am completely wrong.

Well, yeah, that's certainly a thing too - I was more about what Roy said, a competing make/model owner being critical of a Mustang, that's OK, I don't have an M4, but I can be critical of how shitty it sounds. :D

As a moderator you have to keep threads ON TOPIC. Tom's order thread should've had ZERO conversation of whether someone should pay an ADM. There's even whole forum areas for people to compare/compete, talk about other cars, etc., you post that kind of crap in a thread about a specific discussion, about a specific car, it should get moved.

I'm a Moderator for a very popular car group on Facebook and it is not easy! The group caters to all makes and models of race cars from the 60s/70s/80s era, so trust me when I say the discussions can go south in a blink of an eye over a brand, engine, engine size, drivers, women, etc. When I joined this site in 2015 the mods didn't allow a lot of foolery, now it seems more Moderators are needed to stop some of the arguing and prevent a thread from being de-railed.

I'll say this before I tune out for a while. My concern is overall, not specific to this thread. There are known trolls that come and go and nobody in management here seems to care. Do they allow it for the ad revenue? Are they trying to be fair? Who knows.

I certainly enjoy the comraderie of the GT350 and soon to be GT500 experience, but I have to say, it is total B.S. when people like (you know who they are) keep coming in and crapping all over the Ford brand. I'm all about an even discussion, but the problem is that these trolls have another agenda.

We were strongly encouraged by jarstang to report any troll activity. I recently did exactly that and all that occurred was some posts were deleted and an ambiguous warning of posts being suspended in moderated status. (Wow, thats a big hammer).

I like hanging out here. Unfortunately so do so many trolls who are not like minded in enjoying various performance enhancements that several of the manufacturers are producing. We live in a very unique time, a rennassaince if you will, and it has come to petty brand bullshit in an all out flame war that I am frankly sick of. Maybe the management around here is understaffed.... I don't know what. @obspsd mentioned he would help out. I couldn't think of a more level headed guy. However, someone is sleeping at the wheel.

I'm going to let the crap settle down and stop back later. I'll pop in here and there to help friends with this and that, but until things change, ill catch you later.

Now, where is that logout button.... I've never had to use that before.

but the problem is that these trolls don't even own a performance car.
FIFY
Dude your several month's from owning a legendary American built beast that will run with most supercars on the planet and even take down more than few....just ask one of these jacklegs to post a picture of their car.
Can't wait to see your new car and I'll be looking myself once availability isn't so tight.

Trolls make the best moderators as we know the patterns.

Yolo whom never purchased the car he stated he was about to well over a year ago, raves about his current competitos car, and has from day 1 been bashing any and all ford topics,is a prime example

GT owners whom post about having trouble finding GT products in their budget, yet claim to not be buying a shelby due to x y or z, any reason except the price.

The Shelbys are overrated says the EcoBoost owner whose never put their car on the blacktop, drag or roadcourse

Ducks are ducks

Meh...maybe I have thicker skin or I see thing in a different light. The trolls will troll. Period. Its not just on car forums, it's on gun forums, gaming forums, heck ANY forum where people state their opinions of things. I read it, and if I disagree, I decide whether I want to say somethings or not, and move on. People like to just post things that will blow up because they get a rise out of it. Again read and move on.

At least in this forum people can post a opinion about things and not have it get buried because of` having brand X. I would not post in this forum if it became a certain Brand X forum that bans anyone with a different opinion about a said brand who is not doing so well in the pony war.

In time the trolls will move on, pretend they never said anything when all of the theory's are proven wrong, and just jump on whatever the next cycle of topics they feel they can get a rise out of people again. Rinse and repeat. That is the very nature of the forums.
