So, I finally got around to painting my calipers. Attached are some pictures. A buddy with a jack and stands came over and we got to work. Ordered and used a G2 kit in Race Red. So, here's how it went. Yes, the can of paint is small, but it goes farther then you think. I did 2 coats, spaced a few hours apart. The paint sets up fast. Going on, the paint look streaky and doesn't seem to cover well, but as it dries, it smooths out and seems to spread out a bit. The second coat dried very glossy and pretty smooth. We also painted the (I don't know what it's called) plate that the lug bolts come out of black and even sprayed black the top edges of the brake discs themselves. That really makes the calipers pop and looks more "finished". Overall it didn't take too long and it makes a HUGE difference in the look of the car. Can't understand why Ford doesn't just include this on all Shelby's.

Now, here's the tough part. I freely admit I am a bit of a perfectionist. So while we tried to do our best, I KNOW they are not perfect. I KNOW we only painted the visible parts. So, if I was to do this all over, I would pull the calipers off and spray them. Or I would have that professionally done, OR I'd just buy a set of red calipers and slap those on. The calipers look great. Most people are not going to examine the job we did on the calipers. But I KNOW and if YOU were examining my car YOU'D know too. That does bother my OCD. But for now, I'm happy. We'll see what I do down the road. Next up, resonator delete...

Looks good no one will notice the other side could just be dirty. I think I will do the same when car is new.

Primer?
No primer, just cleaned them good and roughed the surface up.
