I drive mine year round so I’m not a huge help, but my neighbor down the street garages his S197 for winter. He leaves his hood open, says he’s never had rodent problems in the engine bay with the hood open (he did used to close the hood and cover the car and had rodent problems).
Also, I would not pull the car out on a warm day just to run it for a few minutes. you’re just introducing condensation that won’t fully evaporate if you don’t get the car all the way up to temp. You’re better off just letting it sit all winter. If you’re going to get it out on a warm day, drive it for a good 20-30 minutes so everything heats up. Just my $0.02 on that.
