So guys, how does Guard look to the naked eye? Green or grey? It's my second choice colour... And how about them Custom Pack wheels?
Looks dark green under artificial light. Don't like the wheels though, much prefer the black ones that come on the EB

Hi, Jennings had that car in today (Wednesday). Went and had a look around at about 3:00. No event as such. Had a good look around and the car was started by a tech as they had problems with the key not working. The only thing that I thought was odd is that there was no one promoting the car. We had a look for about half an hour and left without even a "Hello". Ordered mine in March and hope the handover is more interactive.

Dark green under artificial light as Big_G said - but if you manage to get it under natural light its almost "British Racing" green, which is no bad thing. Think Bullitt Mustang.

As for the wheels: I like them, a lot! But not on a green car.

That kind of sums it all up really...to the dealers, it's just another car & I guess they must be a bit miffed as to what all the fuss is about!

Could anyone else in sales imagine what your boss (or if you are they boss) would do to a sales person that didn't approach every person through the door? Or have a stonking product but be completely dis-interested in it?
P45's all round - but as already been mentioned - they are all sold for this year and next so why bother?
Why bother? Brand reputation, customer service, future business...the list goes on and on.

The whole thing reflects the consumer system at the moment. The consumer does the research, knows more about the product than the person selling it and just uses them as a pick up point - maybe Ford should be renamed Fordazon and offer Prime delivery

But remember, the sales people at the dealer have been given very little information & training by Ford, so they don't know any details themselves - and probably won't until they actually get the dealer cars delivered, or until Ford does a special "training event" for them... this is entirely a Ford UK issue, even though your "contract" is with the dealer.

Let's face it, most of Ford's sales are to businesses, and then to private customers who want a car "at the right price/discount" that they can drvie away - which is why they are setting up the Ford Stores to be a "flagship" operation for the Mustang and the Vignale - to try to pull them up market. In a year's time it will probably be completely different, and let's face it, if the mustang US sales slow down they will have the capacity to increase RHD production quickly - but they do want to keep this as a "halo" car for the time being at least.

I always despair that great pieces of machinery, even 'premium' cars (BMW/Merc) are basically sold through 'barrow boys' who often couldn't care less about the products.

With Ford, I do get the impression that maybe because the cars aren't seen as premium vehicles, they've almost taken the view that Ford customers are downmarket. In general, even the 'showrooms' come accross as a scruffy mess compared to even a say a Hyundai dealership.

Your not wrong - when I ordered mine it was me telling the salesperson what is and isn't included on uk spec cars....lol

Yes but I for one take a very personal pride in my work so if I know something is coming I do the research - people buy from people - my wife makes a decision about buying in a shop within 20 seconds of talking to the staff, if she doesn't like them she's off. As you can guess I now do most of the shopping in our house ;)

Anyways, if a sales person is not interested enough in their job/product to know a bit about it then that does reflect on the company but these individuals are not brainless (well....) how hard is it to find your way to one of these forums and bone up a bit and at least you can have the facts to hand and sound as if you know what you are talking about - you then join with the customer and blame Ford for the slow release of any info but at least you have the customer on your side and are not seen as part of the problem.

Oh well back to the waiting game...:frusty:

I'm currently negotiating with the wife on a trip to Benfields on Saturday. TrustFord in Cas Vegas is supposed to be getting it on Monday but getting information out of them is, well, I think we've pretty much covered the experience of getting information out of dealers. It is quite possible they are doing invite only so anyone thinking of going should check first.

I'd been promised info in the post from Benfield Leeds for weeks. A scrappy postcard came in the post yesterday with no other details than the date on it and a request for me to phone to confirm my attendance (which I shall do today) so you might receive something today or tomorrow for Cas.

I'm hoping for an evening do with food and drinks like the reception they gave in Sunderland. That way at least I'll feel like I've got something for my £1k they no doubt have sitting in a high interest off-shore bank account somewhere.

So TrustFord in Castleford do have a Mustang there on Monday strictly between 10:00 and 18:00 for all comers. Thought that people will be able to get in it. Will be in the showroom so no rides. Might be able to start it up but not sure cos in the showroom. My suggestion I go at 18:00 for when they are loading it back on a trailer seemed to get a nod of approval as an idea.

If you go toward 18:00 and spot a tall, bald, ugly bloke feel free to ask if he is Craig and introduce yourself.

I'm hoping that there is a Mustang event in Northern Ireland in the near future, I'm waiting to hear back from the Ford Stores to see if there will be one. Failing that I may have to wait till Oct/Nov to see a demo car.

It was at ford fair back in June. We were one of the first locations to have it. I posted a few pics and a start up video of it. The next one to come here will be the first delivery.
