Figaro has massive numbers! Good sign for us waiting, looks like wait times somewhat decreasing

And here I was starting to doubt mine would make the Tamesis. That is crazy numbers for one ship. Looks like my dealer was spot on when he said there is now a huge push to get the cars over here. Bring on the next ship. It's getting closer and closer.

Does 'in transit' mean that it has left the factory and on the way to the port?

I think it means from the factory to the dealer.
Mine has been 'in transit' for 9 weeks according to the Ford search thing, but is about to be loaded onto the Figaro (fingers crossed)

What you have to remember is that COTUS is a US system for US customers. The "In Transit" status is designed to mean in transit to the dealer. That's not how it works for us – we're lucky that we can get any information at all.

For export cars, once the status is set to "In Transit", that is when Ford has finished with it. The status doesn't get updated when the train reaches port.

Once your car has been in transit for a couple of weeks, contact Deysha (pm FordService on this forum) and she will be able to tell you if the car has reached the port or not. After that, Ford US know nothing about the car and you are left making the daily check to see if it has been allocated to a ship on the W&W site.

The information we use is a work-around; we get bits and pieces from all over. The reason Ford (and the dealers) don't have any better information, is because they don't go to the same lengths as we do/have.

Edited to add:

I have just checked my car in cotus and it is still in transit. I've been driving it for two weeks now.

So I take it the countdown of "days to delivery" in COTUS is not a countdown to the boat you're going to be on?

Nope.

This is how I believe it works - those times are relevant to the US only, in other words Cotus is designed for local deliveries. That time is the average time it takes to get a vehicle from build to delivery in the US.
It means nothing more.

Yeah that actually has merit in it for the countdown - thanks Tango.

So do you think if:
- in production was 2.2.17
- awaiting shipment was 2.5.17
- currently in transit,

it is unreasonable to think I would make Tonsberg?

I roughly work on about 200 - 250 cars per fortnight.
I use Awaiting Shipment as my mark.
Currently the cars on Salome all fall in roughly the first 2 weeks of Dec 2016 for Awaiting Shipment.
The Figaro (prior to being assigned more cars) had cars with Awaiting Shipment the last 2 weeks of Dec 2016.
My Awaiting Shipment is 10.01.2017 and I reasoned that I would be on the boat after Figaro, but then they added another whole batch. I am in that batch being the first 2 weeks of Jan 2017 and was allocated to the boat which makes sense.
I would say Tamesis is cars with Awaiting Shipment last 2 weeks of Jan and that you are likely to be on Tonsberg based on this.

(there are some exceptions where cars haven't been allocated and I can't comment on those but the trends are pretty clear for the majority of us)
