Hey guys,
my track and trace is saying my car is on the Figaro and is being delivered to Melbourne, which is strange as I'm in Sydney.
So i messaged my dealer with no reply so got on to Ford australia.
They said to speak to the dealer .
This morning i rang the dealer and he told me he'd chase it up.
2 Hours later he rang and said he's checked all the info and it says its going to port kembla, and will be her on the 3rd March...
who would be right? the dealer or the track and trace?

Figaro doesn't even reach Port Kembla until 11th March, and once it's at Baltimore it is no longer in Ford's control, it's basically the responsibility of WW, so forget what the dealer is telling you I'd say. Believe what you see on track and trace more than dealer spin!

Show your dealer the track and trace info and ask them to explain themselves. Sounds like a great conversation! If your dealer is so confident then ask for a $10 or $100 discount for every day after 3rd March until your car is delivered to you. Put their money where their mouth is :clap2:

A lot of our Stangs went to Melbourne then unloaded and loaded onto another ship back to PK, a W& W thing, I would believe that over what Ford thinks.

Well if it's going to PK it will land on the 11th not the 3rd as that's what time it's scheduled.

I wouldn't worry about it, dealers don't know squat about the logistics process.

Is the general consensus now that timing wise, once it is built:
- a week at the factory before it is shipped:
- a month at the docks before it is loaded
- a month on the boat
- a week from Aus dock to dealer

Ford Aus told me 3 months from build - which might be the above plus 2 weeks as a buffer

Dealer phoned on the weekend with a tentative delivery date of Apr 22... working backwards, this means my pony will probably be on Tarago, landing in Brisbane on Apr 17?

This means 6 weeks from build until ship leaves. Seems about right based on experience of others.

My dealer told me 77 days from build to arrival. Seems a bit too perfect to me. I'm taking that with a big grain of salt.

I'm in transit! 3 days between build and transit.

I take it there is a day to get to the docks?

Just chatting to a work mate, and he was telling me about his recent purchase of a VW tiguan..
Same deal as us, he could track where the car was etc.
So he lined up to go down to Port Kembla to watch the ship come in, and it didn't arrive. But all of his data Shipping docs , GPS of the ship, all said it was supposed to arrive.
The next morning he rang the dealer, and he said," oh hey, your car arrived here at the dealership a few days ago and will be ready tomorrow"..

So confused at the moment with the whole thing
