If it was sold to you as a 2.3 Ecoboost and it's not but some other engine - if this was never mentioned to you at any time during the time of sale. What else isn't right ? would be my next question.

I would seriously ask for my money back and bring fraud charges to light.

if you bought it from a dealer you should get your money back.
if you bought it from a private party i would try the same, expect resistance, and so be ready to scare them into doing the right thing.

if they don't this is civil suit territory might be criminal for fraud.

I'm not sure what sort of replies you're expecting, but no one here can tell you what happened. And to be blunt, it doesn't matter.

You have to sort this out with whomever you bought the car from.
