Mustang guy almost got me today.

Today, while navigating to an onramp I had to get to the left and then the onramp drifted right. I was in a city and there were cars coming so I goosed it. All of a sudden my rear end went completely loose, first swinging left, then right almost as if something had grabbed my car. No squeeling, no sounds, no jump in RPMs just like it was suddenly on ice, and completely unpredictable and out of control. I was in track mode with TC off. 50 degrees outside and had been driving on the city streets for 8-10 miles. Had no problem with recovery and continuing up the onramp and on the highway, but it was the strangest and oddest feeling, almost as if my tires had come off the rims.

There COULD have been some oil or sand on the onramp, but unlikely. In almost 3 years of hard driving I've never had anything close to this with the Bullitt. Could have easily been Mustang guy today if not an experienced driver. Oh, this onramp was lined on both sides with those concrete dividers and virtually no shoulder.

But the fun part was at one point on the drive home a ZR?1 came up along side and we did a couple pulls up to the 140 range. I doubt either of us were 'going for it' was mostly just having fun.

Actually on and off ramps are full of debris and oils. Angles of the road and transfer of junk off of trash trucks and others drip all kinds of fluids on them. I’ve had a motorcycle buddy go down right in front of me for no reason other than fluids on the road.

Yeah, probably right. It was just so sudden and could have gone bad.

I personally wouldn't be surprised if that happened in track mode with traction control off. Not a dig at you, but im only ever in that mode if im on the track or conditions are perfect, I wouldn't run that mode in 50 degree temp, im supercharged though so it steps out a lot on a good day.

LOL, I was being obnoxios to a bunch of Harley bubbas crusing the streets and blipping throttles and didn't want to take the time to sort through the menus to put exhaust in that mode.

I was just shocked at how quickly the rear got so loose without any warning or expectation, but also how it swung the other way so fast. Had to be a combination of colder weather and road debris or something.

3 years and 20K miles, I've had the rear step out, but was always expected this wasn't. Your'e right if the nannies were on would have been less drama. Lesson learned!

Yea, even with 305/35/19 Mich PSS at 50deg F no dice. Especially after the 4.09 gear install. The fact you "goosed" it explains it all. When it drops below 55 deg F I won't go past Sport Plus mode.

That temp, with those tires... its like they are made of wet rocks.
VERY easy to have it go sideways real fast.

Even in sport on part throttle I can feel the back end start to dance a bit in those temps.
