I forgot to say yep you are right...depends on how many miles are covered during the race, somebody is getting passed. Road racing for more than a mile or so is not going to go very well for either party.

0-60 is almost irrelevant in the real world, most of those are inflated with launch control which someone won't be using in an on the fly race. I think a supercharged Mustang could easily stay with a GT2 off the rip. Eventually you'd get passed.

Very true... and on internet forums we always win. Hey he won...didn't you read my last statement.

Last time I checked, races happen on pavement, not on paper.

I am the same and respect that. I also know when I won a race that was because the other driver didn't want to put the effort into it.

I only give factual accounts. I lost to the GT3 I dig raced (check back in this thread somewhere...), but he still said the Mustang was quick. I also lost to a McLaren (I just wanted to see/hear it go). And a 2007 911 with apparently $70 under the hood:

As they say, a win is a win.....that Porsche GT2 has a tested 0-60 2.6 and quarter mile of 10.3 but get this at.....140 mph. I hate to tell you, if someone is driving it that really wants to run you...you don't have a chance, even with the Stage 2. Oh wait, I assumed it must be a new one...could it have been a 1990's era? Could you have gotten the model wrong?

Not knocking on your run and congratulate your new install...but some of us just don't get it, that some people will allow you to run off because they don't want the ticket or whatever and let off the acceleration at some point.

I take all this back. I forgot it is our bragging post....heck even I do it :)
High wing and GT something on it. He said it was a 2.. Maybe he was full of it like my buddy was :) I'm no Porsche expert.

It's all right. They all look like squished beetles anyway.

Porsche GT2 has been around since 2002, in various forms. I know the 2017 - 2019 (991.2) models are extremely fast. You wouldn't need a supercharger to beat a 2002 model.

it was not an old car that is for sure. He may have been full of it and it was a gt3. It said GT something on it. He said it was a gt2 though.

A 2005 GT2 does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and does not look much different than a 2013 - 2016 or 2017 - 2019 GT2 which are significantly faster. You would have to be a serious Porsche fan to tell the differences between models. There are 5 or 6 GT2s that show up at the local Porsche meets and the late model ones seem to be pampered garage queens that only come out on nice days to be driven slowly. I think they cost around $300k, so owners are just showing them off. The older models (2005 - 2009) are the ones you actually see being used.

Last Saturday while out with the lovely Mrs Bulldog, a 69 Nova pulled up along side to pass, then slowed, rev'd his motor to indicate he wanted to have some fun. I of course much to my wife's chagrin obliged. I was driving leisurely, so downshifted to 2nd, nailed the throttle (at about 4K) and let it rip...... Backed off at a 'reasonable speed, and Left him in the dust ;-) He followed into the shopping center and nodded in submission... lol

All my wife said was 'good thing for you you won, dont do that again......' I just laughed like a madman.

I had a 911 turbo of some year (looked pretty new) behind me the other day. I think he thought I was a regular mustang because he rode me like a rented mule until I was able to get into it. I've never had a Porsche driver actually instigate anything. He got his revenge when we hit the corners.

I've noticed a lot of newer Porsches popping up around here lately; I think it's time for me to get a new job.

Don't you have a z06 and a supercharged mustang? You can get a 718 GT4 for $100k.
