What's the point of running it up to high speeds on the dyno though? Does it put a load to simulate wind resistance to get a realistic top speed?

I saw a car really let go on a dyno at a car show, it was the "dyno competition" (which is a touch silly to begin with), a guy was determined to win, pushed the boost ...

*kaboom*

Parts scattered back onto the roller, those flung everywhere, surprised nobody lost an eye.

I've done quite a bit of dyno time with a number of different cars and the the whole process still kind of freaks me out.

Dude said he only had his car for a month too. Guess I should be very satisfied with my little scratch that's getting fixed. Wow that really sucks.

This thread was worth it just for the Star Wars guy with the nail. I always wondered how I managed to find all those nails through out the years. Now I know! Lol.
