hello everyone, looking for help. So, a few hours ago i was getting out my front struts to replace the springs and got 3 of the 4 strut suspension bolts out but the 4th one was stubborn. So, I kept hammering at it, it finally budged but the tip of the bolt mushroomed a bit and now i cant get it out of the the hole. Please advise me guys, whats the next step, do i get a dremel and cut the tip off (I have new bolts, i am not going to reuse them anyways), so i just wanna get it out.

Thanks guys

Yes, youll have to cut the mushroomed part or the bolt head off. In the future put the nut on the end to avoid damage from hammering.

I believe its a grade 10.9 or some other hardened steel which makes it difficult without a cut off wheel of some kind. A Dremel with a metal cutting blade should be good enough

It's be easier to just grind off the mushroomed edges, no? But either method would work.

That works too, but it's going to take more time than just lopping off the mushroomed section, especially since the strut is still in the car and he can't just throw the bolt in a vise or something.

I've not seen the area in question but it's suspension so it's not unreasonable to assume that space is limited. An angle grinder will likely be awkward to use in that space. I'd likely use a dremel or a pneumatic cut off wheel.
I know it's common sense but be sure to wear safety glasses, a shread of steel in the eye sucks. Ask me how I know...
