I talked to a dealer today out of Indiana. They have a 2016 R model on order with a VIN...and, the VERY inexperienced sounding rep said, "Yeah. I believe they are going to be asking $180K". :eyebulge:

I almost started laughing out loud! I asked if it was a 2015 or 2016. "Yep. It's a 2016. They are a VERY limited run." I told him that MSRP is roughly $66K for an R with OTT Stripes and the Electronics Package. Yep, he was certain it would be priced over $100K.

Wow. :tsk:

I believe I may have sourced an "R" at MSRP...that I'm going to pay forward to one of the members on this forum..... Will update as I know more. Phone calls tomorrow. And There may be another GT350 at MSRP.... I will be giving up since I now have 2 GT350's UNDER MSRP...one will be the tech pack the other a Track pack. So that picture with a new buddy with an "R" and me with 2 GT350's holding signs that say I told you so.... will likely be coming....

No offence Cruzin...but why not way until you have an "R" deal in hand first before posting "you believe, you may have" two qualifiers in one sentence. (which in my book is called B.S.)..and then you are going to graciously "pay it forward"...then following that up with another "I may have" another GT350 at MSRP....then rubbing in the famous "2 under MSRP" REALLY?

I think your creditably "maybe, possibly" improve...

Dude... I basically said the same thing to you and got crucified. Even though it may seem unbelievable to the majority, it is still a possibility. I'm certainly not trying to start anything, but whats good for the goose...

I am impressed that you are getting your R even after I initially called "BS". I hope you accept my apology for calling you out.

Fairfield Ford called me back today and wants 30k over for a GT350.
Grease ball stuff for sure. They would be the guys who will offer you 30 grand for it on a trade in a few years. No wonder people despise car dealers. You should have replied with an offer of 30 grand under sticker!

I don't really see where the "R" is that big of a deal. The standard GT350 with the appropriate options package would be a better choice for most of us.

I'll put it this way DONSON. just be patient. When things pan out... I know two people who should be happy, the rest...should be happy for us, if they just wanna sit and stew and wonder why they are paying ADM's then they can do that too. Having credibilty has nothing to do with being excited about getting a car. And paying it forward. You know how that goes. You've been there too.

If you plan to do even a few track days, I think the R is worth it. Its also the only model you can get the recaros/coolers and the nav/sync3 setup. There is also the exclusivity and being the "best of the best" to factor in.

If I could have found one for MSRP, I would have ordered it in a heartbeat

I accept your apology.:hail:....I disagree with you in that its the same thing I got crucify for..............I did not post that I "might have this R" and "I might have this GT350" for the forum ...I "HAD 4 GT350, at MSRP" and then "I HAD another 3 GT350 deals at $1,500 ADM" That members received and posted.........The big difference is the "I might have" ,and "I DO have".....IMO wait until you GOT IT before you POST IT:cheers:

I think the R is a huge deal - just because it has the first carbon fiber wheels on a production car. I like the rear seat delete and some other things, but the CF wheels are the big deal for that car... well and notoriety might be a big deal to many buyers. I know if I had the right money and contacts I would buy one.

However I do agree that GT350 is a better choice for me.. and probably many others. I want a daily driver and I don't think the R makes sense for me as a daily driver.

Well...I do have 2 allocated GT350's with deposits on my plate for MSRP or below. And an "R" at MSRP in the pipeline, which is yet to be confirmed, so what...if it is confirmed, should I not post that?? I have also passed on my info for MSRP deals to two other members. And when the MSRP "R" comes into my hands.... the only way to satisfy some people is to actually allow them to sit in it before they say yup its real. But, depending on who they are... I and the person who benefits from my pay it forward will always reserve the right to deny that experience to them.

Can't we all just get along --Rodney King
