No one has ordered an R model for MSRP on here. If someone did I am sure they would be bragging.
That is your opinion. What is the point to brag if its not in your nature to care what others think about the deal you did or did not get.

My local dealer is getting two GT350's and one R. Sales manager said they plan to see what they are marked up in LA and Phoenix and San Diego and then they will mark up in line with those areas. They have 28 people on the wait list and they will call them in order with the markup price. First 3 that agree to pay get one.

As I said earlier... the demand is unconsciously high... so stoopid high that ADMs will continue on this car.

Just because you didn't get an R at MSRP makes it a fact that no one got the deal. There's a lesson for you and I disagree your logic. Enough said...

I put a deposit down and signed the papers there for I am obligated to pay for the car when it comes in. To me its a done deal and it is a binding contract. That cannot change, so even though I haven't actually paid I am locked in to the car or loose my deposit.

My opinion. So don't beat me, but unless your related or something I don't think you will get a R at MSRP.

I agree but we haven't heard of anyone getting the MSRP.

A deposit is a deposit... It's not a contractual obligation. They will sell the car even if you were to back out, no doubt.

No one here is trying to "beat" you, at least I'm not, but your statements regarding getting an R car at MSRP were problematic. I'm sure there are a few 2015 350/R's obtained at MSRP and I'm sure there are some 2016 350/R's obtained at MSRP. It's not impossible

IMHO, where you came off as crude was trying to sell your R car, assuming that is what you will be getting, at $80k on here while others are chomping at the bit just to have an opportunity to find an R. It was crass man.

I don't have the time to go through all the threads, but there WAS an R model that was sold at MSRP. One of the people in the forum works for a Seattle-based dealer that was chosen to receive and sell a 2015 R at MSRP to a VIP of Ford.

So, yes - it did happen.

In addition there are also 2016 GT350R's that have sold for MSRP as well.

;)

Wait a minute - How did a Dinkytown dealer in Iowa get an R? Was it a '15 or '16? I'm just skeptical, because many Top 100 Ford dealers across the country aren't getting an R.

Dinkytown dealer?

While they are not Galpin Ford, they are a good sized dealership. The chevy dealer right next door (Karl Chevrolet) is one of the largest chevy dealers in the US. All located in Dinkytown USA.

That's my dealership and, yes, we agreed to sell this '15 GT350R for MSRP. Customer was hand picked by Ford and he could have assigned the sale to any Ford dealership nationwide. We agreed to sell it at MSRP as it did not come out of our allocation, so we earned this local customer's business by doing so. He is a very serious Shelby collector with an impressive collection, hence why Ford hand picked him to buy one of the 37 '15 GT350R's.

As stated by Drum, the law would disagree with you on that one. You need a piece of paper with the full terms of the agreement, exact price including taxes etc., signed by you and the seller/dealer to be a legally binding contract. Most states have codified the statute of frauds that says an agreement for the sale of goods over a certain dollar amount must be in writing or it's voidable.

It is highly unlikely that you signed a binding contract with the full terms of the transaction before the car is even build as those are signed upon delivery or very close to it. You likely signed an estimate or a DORA sheet that has no terms to it. If I go put a deposit to rent an apartment but haven't signed the lease what have I acquired? Nothing as either party can back out until that contract is signed by both parties; even if they quoted me the monthly rent.

Yeah can't have a sales contract without a VIN or the car even legally in possession of the dealer to sell in the first place
