Once you have this kit together and the kinks worked out .. I would love to come see it. I am considering going FI on my DIB 16. Im in Clarksville and would make a road trip if its something you would be up for. Good luck with the rest of the install!

Sure, I'll IM you and we can set something up. I'm over in Millington.

Well, other than the injectors, plugs, tune and fascia, done. I fired her up to move her and she's stumbling and surging. Shut her down. Either she doesn't want to run without the tune or I've got a vacuum leak somewhere :(.
Won't run without a tune. :)

But your about there, and can't wait to see/hear the results! :)

Not too bad of a drive from here.. sure I can talk the wife into a date night in Memphis then deal with her anger once she finds out it was an excuse to do Supercharger research lol. I want to go FI on this car but I really want to see some of these installs and cars run in person to make the right decision on which kit to install. Ill be following along hope all goes well!

Do you plan on keeping your 3.73s?

I am wondering if it would be fine for interstate runs of fun not drag racing or anything like that.

I know people say that your should drop down in gearing for centri's because of mph. I did not...left my 3:73's in and love it. Running the std P1SC-1 unit. the 3:73's gets you in the powerband quicker. If you plan on doing mostly highway pulls, 1/2 mile runs etc then I would say yes to gearing down.

No plans on changing the gearing at this time. Time will tell.

Interested to hear your perspective on the gears once your car is up and running.

Spent about a hour out in the garage and changed the injectors and plugs. Gave it a once over to make sure I've not missed anything.

Still no tune from Lund. Called beefcake today and he said the timing is 3 to 7 days, tomorrow is day 6 (or 7 if you count starting on Wednesday morning) so hopefully it will show up soon.

Crossing my fingers that the stumbling and surging yesterday was because the car wasn't "happy" with the stock tune.

My Whipple will barely run if the car is on the stock tune. No way I can even think about moving the car. I wouldn't even worry about it at this point. No chance at that car feeling remotely normal without that tune.

Question for you guys ordering ProChargers. When you place your order are you able to specify what altitude you live at so the tune is calibrated for it? Or does it matter, does the tune not need to be set for that?

If you buy a complete kit, I think you'd be getting a "canned" tune and tuner from Procharger. I opted for remote tuning from Lund. The altitude should be figured into the tune via the data from the data logs that Lund will be using to dial in the tune. If I'm incorrect with my assumptions, I'm sure someone will chime in.

If you talk to procharger before you buy and tell them your altitude/da, they will recommend which pulley to use in order to keep your boost as close as possible to what the kit is supposed to produce. My understanding is at time of purchase, you can specify the pulley size you want at no additional charge.

I don't think the tune really changes based on altitude, I think the ecu takes care of this. It is not like the mustang comes from the factory with a different tune for everyone at varying altitudes.

Thanks, the thrifty part of me wants to just get the canned tune from ProCharger and see if it is good enough to keep me happy. No track for me, so not looking for the optimum (yet), time will tell. Wondering how good the canned tune is, guessing it will run pretty good from some videos I've seen.

That makes sense, thanks for the info.

Id limit how many times you attempt to run/start it with the stock tune. Otherwise you might be putting another set of plugs in it soon. :) So the best option is to just hold off.

The stock file is WAY WAY off compared to the blower file.

Yes, when a customer places the order we need to know everything about the car, location, etc. So that we can make sure the correct pulley is placed in the order. (we need that info to be communicated to us by the selling dealer)

There are many many many people that run our stock "canned" file, both with the 52lb injectors and now the increasing number of 95lb injectors. The tune is set up to run and be safe on gas across the us, various altitudes, etc. And has all safety features still fully operational, like Ford intended. :)

Thanks!
