I have the 2015 GT w/PP (3.73 final gear ratio).
I'd like to know how fast the car will go in 4th gear before there's fuel cutoff.
Thanx.

Its just fourth gear, get on the interstate and hit it! It will only take around 12-13 seconds to hit it from stop so highway pull should be easy! I hit the redline on fourth it was around 110 but couldn't catch exactly what the speed was! I wish we had digital speedo!

Actually, I was at an HPDE event yesterday and was at about 120mph in 4th when the fuel cut off. Was looking for a more exact reading. Also, am not about to try going that fast on the interstate or anywhere else for that matter.

If anyone has this info, I'd like to know the top speed of all the gears with the 3.73's while we're at it?

3.73 gears 4th gear won't hit 120 mph!

Use a calculator to figure speed in gears for a given rpm/final drive/gear ratio combination.

It will give you theoretical speeds in gears based on information provided... subjective data would all be different anyway because of all the variables like wind/temperature/altitude/tire size etc etc etc.

Here is one

this is easy to figure out. with a 7k redline. see what speed you are doing in 4th gear @ 3,500 rpm. double that speed for your redline speed.

Math is not hard.

Not sure where exactly fuel cutoff is, but ignoring contact patch size 7000rpm for a GT-PP is 119-120mph.

I just figured somebody had already figured it out and would have it handy. Since I don't know the transmission ratio's, it's seemed simpler to ask in a quick post.

^^^ See below .... based on fuel cut-off at 6850 RPM, 3.73 differential, MT82 6-speed and 27.0" diameter tires. Of course it would never hit cut-off in 6th gear unless you had about 2000 HP. :D

Gear - MPH @ Cut-Off
1 - 39.2
2 - 59.0
3 - 85.0
4 - 109.0
5 - 143.3
6 - 231.3

Awesome! Thanks GT Pony! I've heard we're governed at 164. Is that true also? Are they capable of that or beyond that in stock form?

Not sure what the speed governor is set to ... thought I heard 155 MPH, but not sure. The 435 HP should easily be enough to overcome aerodynamic drag to 164 MPH.

A rough calculation of the theoretical top speed based on a Cd=0.38 (assumed), 3900 lbs with driver and 370 RWHP (15% loss of crank HP) and perfect gearing gives 173 MPH.

Magazines have tested the GT PP to 164 in a few reviews. I am not sure if that is the governor kicking in or the fact that is all it will run in 6th gear due to gearing/drag.

Didnt the hennessy with the hpe700 kit max out with the performance pack gt at 195mph. I believe they even made a video and it hit the rpm limiter in sixth. Stock limiter I believe is 164mph set by ford but can be raised with a tuner or removed with a tuner.
