I have 700 miles on my GT and still get 25mpg on the highway. Engine must already be broken in

Yes.Should my mpg continue to go down from idling? Cuz that's what happens when I idle
You definitely have a point there. Gas is cheap as hell nowadays and on top of that I don't need premium gas, so I guess it even benefits me a little moreI paid $2.19 for premium this morning. Burn it!!! Americas oil drillers will thank you!
Unfortunately, I'm old enough to remember paying .75 per gallon when I first started driving back in 1978.
BUT! Running the inflation calculator, that .75 cents back then is equal to $2.74. So I'm paying .55 cents less for gas today than I did in 1978! Well, actually .15 cents cheaper if you run the calculator on that too.
Idle should not use that much fuel but if you just reset the meter it will change pretty quickly.Should my mpg continue to go down from idling? Cuz that's what happens when I idle
15.4 seems too low. You try resetting the trip computer before making a highway run? I would think the Mustang V6 could muster at least 20 city, 27 highway. I think that V6 is direct inject, so it should be very efficient, relative to its power.I've had the car for about 3 weeks now and have just been experiencing terrible mpg. Currently I'm at 15.4, mostly city but I do have a 50 mile highway trip factored into that. Checking through the forums, there's GT's getting better:tsk:
I know I'm not heavy footed, so it's not me. Do I have to break the engine in more?(currently at 330miles). Are there problems I should check for??
Me too, all in town and average about 21-23 mph. Not concerned.lol, I average 12 mpg![]()
My display would say the same thing but when it was hand calculated it was a lot lower.I have 700 miles on my GT and still get 25mpg on the highway. Engine must already be broken in
