Moving the Bullitt west

So on May 8th I put the Bullitt on a trailer to begin a 2500 miles drive to her new home. Rochester NY to Carson City NV.

Most of the trip was pretty uneventful. Except for Wyoming. I felt like a mailman. Snow, sleet, hail and freezing rain. Not so much fun. This was in the parking lot when I left Cheyenne. That’s a GT350 Super Snake. Truck ain’t too bad either.

A little while later... Yuck.

Finally at her new (temporary) home. I had loaded a little in the trunk so this was the easiest way to unpack it.

And the next weekend when I had a little time to get out and about...

I’ll be driving my Bullitt to its new home in Central Florida in a few weeks. It’ll be the longest drive I’ve made in the car. Heck, I haven’t even hit 3K miles yet and I’ve had it for almost 11 months.

Yeah - new gig. And that’s because I wanted away from NYS taxes and BS. Plus it’s beautiful here.

I’ll be driving my Bullitt to its new home in Central Florida in a few weeks. It’ll be the longest drive I’ve made in the car. Heck, I haven’t even hit 3K miles yet and I’ve had it for almost 11 months.

I know the feeling. By the time I got there the car had more miles on the trailer than the odometer. Not anymore!!

Will do when I get back up there! 1/2 hour drive. It’s a very cool place - like stepping back in time.

I lived all over that area in years past: Incline Village, Reno, and even spent some time in Yerington flying for a small corporation that had relocated from Bend, OR.

I like the Carson Valley and the Walker River areas. I imagine civilization is probably 10 times the size it was back in the 1980's.

I work in Minden (Carson Valley for those not familiar with the area). Still learning my way around - but I love it.

Carson City’s population is now 55k. I know it’s grown but I don’t know how much.

And I saw my first Bullitt here today! On my way home on 395. But I was driving my truck.

Have fun checking out the passes over 88, 4 and 108. Every time I go camping in the eastern, I wish I was driving my Mustang.

Thanks! I used to wish I was driving a car instead of the “camping pulling” truck when I was in the Adirondack mountain. Fun place to drive for sure.

Yup! Haven’t made it though Kingsbury Grade yet - maybe this weekend. Everytime I see the sign I go “hmmm...”

There were many times on the drive I felt the same way. Lack of space to bring stuff was the problem. Plus I had to get the truck there too and was already having my bike shipped.
