I got one for you. If you run a lowered car, depending on the header, there's a chance they can scrape and when they do cause big problems. I was lowered on Eibach Sportlines with pypes headers and they've scraped and broke the header gasket almost causing damage at the heads.

Problem #1, lowering too far. It kills the suspension geometry of the car pretty bad. I don't know why people do it because the money it takes to correct it could have been used on other suspension pieces to enhance it even further.

The install is a nightmare. If your car is lowered, the tubes where they come into the collector might scrape the ground and cause a leak. If your o2 sensor is level instead of angled, you have a good chance of going through o2 sensors regularly. Especially on e85.

Haven't had this problem yet with ARH headers and I have been running E85 for about a year straight now. Not sure if it has to do with environment conditions or what. If I do burn out a set, I may consider some Kook's.

Hey guys, so I've been contemplating getting along tubes because I still have warranty on my vehicle and know that long tubes require a tune which could mess with that. But on the other end, what are the most common problems that could be Associated to having the long tubes that Ford could not want to cover me for?
The most obvious is not being able to pass emissions in most markets.

Absolutely. Bought the car with the lowering springs already on it 3 years ago when I was much more green and naive. Had really no idea the magnitude of problems and headaches I was causing myself. Have already ordered a litany of mustang6g suspension nirvana parts waiting to go on the car this month

Awesome! You'll love it when everything is corrected and that rear cradle is stiffened up. Car feels great with just a few light mods.

Just have any decent exhaust shop just drill/weld a new angled bung and then plug/weld the existing bung.

Just happened to me last Thursday. Went through a Charlie's car wash, I go through every couple days or so. Car is not lowered only has the normal suspension stuff cradle brace vert links etc. Well the car wash got ahold of my exhaust at the headers and ripped the whole exhaust out from under the car. Also did significant damage to header on driver side. It will not seal to the head anymore and misfire issues due to that and running e85r, the 02 sensor on that side is loosing it's mind because of that. To top it off car wash is refusing to help with repairs even though I was just through there 2 days prior with no changes to car. Moral of the story is headers are worth it, just be aware that they do hang a bit lower and can cause issues because of that.

Yeah less than ideal. I have an attorney involved now. What sucks was I was getting ready for another round of mods, then had some complications with a major injury I had back in April and have to have aurgsur again, then tore my rotator cuff and labrum. So medical bills are eating me up, and I can't do my own work for quite some time. PS I am a mechanic for a living (shop manager though) so gonna be missing a lot of work and that hurts even more. At this point I am really praying that the start of legal proceedings will cause them to give in and let me just take it in and have it fixed.

What part of a carwash could even grab the exhaust? Every moving carwash I've ever seen just has a roller the pushes a tire, nothing under the middle of the car.

It was just coming on to it. It's a newer wash, and it was very cold. I'm thinking that the concrete heaved a bit and that's what caused the problem.

I’m lowered on BMR SP080 and have lowered the engine with the UPR motor mounts. I rarely scrape and the only time I’ve bottomed out is on a bigger speed bump.

ARH headers will be my next major mod. I’ve got 18mo’s of warranty left but I’m probably doing the headers this summer.

I also have Borla ATAK so I’m prepping myself for wake the dead loud.

Good thread to read to get other guys’ experiences.
