Greetings to all my mustang bros.

I got a ticket yesterday night while looking for a spot to take photo for my car. I was rolling at 10mph and the cops pulled me over and gave me a modified exhaust ticket along with no front plate and tinted windows.

He even told me that my car is way too lowered. ????????? I'm on KW V3 and I am by no means slammed or am I about that slammed life. Any brothers out there got in the same situation as me? He basically told me I have to get it checked.

I have stock headers with Corsa Xtreme on.

Here is the ticket he gave me:

any input would be much appreciated.

That's impressive, honestly. I've never even heard of someone getting ticketed for window tint here in LA.

My first move when I get pulled over is to drop both windows all the way down. I find cops appreciate that anyway because it makes it clear I'm not trying to hide anything, plus they can't see the window tint. :D

As for the exhaust, no idea there. Worst case, you may have to pull it off to get the ticket signed off on.

Where were you that you got pulled over going 10 MPH for an exhaust?

All fix it tickets? If so, you could just eat the cost, pay the ticket and not fix anything. Not making the changes relies on that cop never seeing you again though. If he is on regular patrol in your neghborhood or somewhere you go regularly, he'll probably get you again.

Otherwise you'll have to fix it all and get an inspection from the cops to clear the ticket. The inspection will still cost you some money...25 - 50 bucks I think.

Or, if you can prove the exhaust decibles are below the legal limit...I'm gonna say 96db, but I am not sure about that...then you can probably show them manufacturer's info or something to prove it.

For the ride height, you could also measure your height and prove that it is above the limit, if it is. No ticket for it, but you would know if it comes up again.

The tinting I think you are just screwed on. Front windows can only be tinted to 30% in CA so if you have more than that up front you'll probably need to pull it out.

No front plate there is just no getting around. Needs to be attached with a fixed mount. Hideaway mounts seem popular for this.

Personally, this is why I never tint my windows. Its been my experience that cops will leave me alone if I only have two ticketable mods. For me, its usually no front plate and either exhaust or lowering.

Is this about the white mustang on your instagram? Doesn't look that low.

I was at DTLA, a empty train depot for taking picture. I also had my windows down. He probably saw the tip of it or something.

I'm by no means low at all. haha. I did not get a ticket for my ride height only window tint and front plate which I can get it resolved easily.

I got caught around the area that I live, god damnit. I have the corsa extreme on with stock headers, I have no idea what decibel it is on. I think he pulled me over probably to hit his quota. The junior cop was doing all the writing and he gave me the "I'm sorry bro, I feel you but I can't help you" eyes.

Basically the cop just said, it looks like you have a modified exhaust, bring it in to have it checked.

I wasn't even on my gas when he pulled me over.

cali law says you cnat have any tint period on the front three windows, height wise your headlights have to be so high above the ground, don't know exact height. exhaust wise they can try and hit you with the dcb bs but I have the same exhaust and its not loud at that rpm so he is just being a tool. unfortunately even if you win you still have to pay court cost etc... dude sounds like a tool (cop). im LE and have 5% and same exhaust and lowered. only cop to pull me was a chp and tried to get me for tint but I showed my creds and was let go, you could tell the dude was salty about it too lol

I've had a tint ticket and modified exhaust ticket. Whatever everyone blames the cop but we all know what we're doing it's part of the fun of modding your car. Pay it fix it put it back on

No tint allowed on front windows in California, period.
I gave up that battle and do not tint anymore.

Front plates will get you stopped almost all the time, and an excuse to write you for anything else.

Exhaust ticket is a chicken sh!t ticket to me as many cars that come off the production lines these days are louder than some of our cars that have been modified. Take the Hellcat for example. A factory car but is loud AF, STOCK.

Unfortunately in our state, its the price we have to pay to personalize.

Just stay off the 10 between DTLA and the 405 as the CHP there love to stop people for plates and tint.

Based on the check boxes on the left, it looks like the front plate and window tint are correctable but the modified exhaust isn't. You'll have to put a plate on the front, remove the tint and take it to a CHP office to get it written off. You'll get a fine in the mail for the exhaust.

FYI I have the Extremes and there is no way they are legal decibel wise.

Wow, I have tints, exhaust, no front plate and have never had a problem in San Diego but then again, the Mustang gets driven 2-3x per week max.

Question on front plate. I have the bracket in my trunk and looks like 2 small holes were drilled on my front bumper. I assume if I "wanted" to attach it, I just need 2 screws and the bottom of the bracket does not need to be secured....?

He marked your exhaust violation as non correctable which mean you have to either have it inspected by at state ref or eat the full bail out cost. The tint and plate are regular fix its which any officer or chp can sign of if you fix it and you will just pay $25 fee each.

Dang sounds like he was either having a bad day or he thought you were being sketchy driving around so slow. Sucks about the exhaust, my buddy had extremes and those are def not under the legal db level in Cali. Just swap back to stock and get it marked off and put it back on

Depends on the cop and location. I have fairly dark tint and didn't have a front plate on my 300ZX for a while. I got pulled over 4 times over 3 years specifically for the front plate. I played dumb each time and said there wasn't anywhere to mount it and got verbal warnings. Nobody mentioned my tint. Then I got pulled over for speeding at 11:30PM, and got a no front license plate ticket mailed to my house. CHP didn't even mention it when he pulled me over. He walked around the entire car, which I thought was weird, but didn't think much of it at the time. Then the mail came with 2 tickets...

Fabricated a cheap ass mount, got it signed off at the police station, paid my $12 or whatever fee and took that shit right back off.

So far with my SN95 and the GT350 I've been lucky with no front plate though.
