I tried searching but didn't see this discussed anywhere:

How come the FORD Cobra snake logo is different from the SHELBY Cobra logos? When did it change and why?

If you look, the current Cobra has a a sharp angle on it's back at the widest part, while the logos from Shelby are curved in that area. Why?

Has anyone noticed this?

I like to disassemble things.
Everyone has noticed the changes throughout the years, there is no trickery here.

IMHO, the snake penned by the 2015+ GT350 Ford designers is easily the sharpest.

But the current Shelby Cobra is different than the current Ford Cobra. Shelby's Cobra hasn't changed. We're not talking about an evolution of the Cobra changes, we're talking about two different snakes at the same time. Knowing Carroll's past, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some copy write or other contractual requirements/restrictions imposed.

I don't believe that's the issue. Shelby the whole brand works with Ford to brand these vehicles...

Yea, I get that. Aaron Shelby seems a lot more easy going than his grandfather was. I just wondered why two different logos at the same time. Who knows, maybe there's no real answer.

Why does it matter? Ever see to living snakes that look the same? No.

Why does any of this matter?
Oh, right, cause it's a hobby and it's supposed to be fun.

Given that they’re now two different and separate entities I expected them to have different logos.

Hey Adam,
You really seem to be bothered by this. I suggest you seek professional help if you find this impacting the major areas of your life; work/school, relationships, well-being....:cwl:

Seriously, Ford uses the Shelby name and logo under licensing from Carroll Shelby Licensing (CSL). Google it and you might find some answers. Maybe there’s a provision that the logos be substantially similar but not exact copies. This is conjecture on my part.

Let us know what you find.

The new GT500 snake has been tweaked and is not the same as the GT350 snake. It's what Ford chose to do for whatever reason and I like it.

I never complained, just asked if there was a reason why. Just making polite conversation. Or so I thought.
