Prefilters are great for large-sized particulate, but the ones I've read about are really made for dust >5um.
I'm actually concerned about letting too much air in as I don't want to cause a lean condition or mess with the MAP readings.
I have no idea why there's coating on the inside of the tube. I have tons of pictures and I'll do a writeup when everything's worked out. Here's a picture, it looks like acrylic paint: http://i.imgur.com/P5T48jP.jpg
Dan, I'm in Havasu but moving to Tempe soon. I see you're in Huachuca.. last time I was there the mess hall roof fell in.
