Those bolts are for towing. See you buy this bracket, attach it to those bolts, and then you'll hook the tow to the bracket and then you can attach the car to the back of your RV. You'll have to, of course, keep the hood open during your road trip from Las Vegas to Toronto, but no big deal because that'll prevent rock chips from your Starliner RV. :dnftt:

That's the strut tower brace. Not the k brace.
You can see the k brace in the view.
I believe normally if you get the strut brace, you get the k brace as well.
Either way I would imagine all GT's come with k brace.

Yeah, the strut brace without the k brace does very little to add support. That's why the brace kit from FRPP comes with the k brace, which is what I got.

I though the 'K Brace' went under the front of the car (below the engine), not on top between the strut tower and firewall.

My GT does not have the PP and no strut bar, so it also doesn't have that black brace between the driver's side strut tower and firewall (that I think you're calling the K brace).

Yea cuz it looks like a K.

Do you guys think it's worth it to install the K-brace and strut brace? I just use my car for Sunday cruising, not really on the track or drag strip, so i'm a bit skeptical that i'd notice a difference. if you had one installed after not having one originally, did it change how the car feels in a noticeable way? for better or for worse?

thanks for the input y'all!

The biggest difference I noticed was going over potholes and bumpy roads - much less body flex. It may help in cornering, but I just don't notice it there.

I have a GT premium with 20" wheels. My car only had the K brace (upper firewall).

In one afternoon, I added the Upper shock tower brace, lower G-Track Brace, and rear sub frame brace. Best $500 I have ever spent. Those 3 extra items tie everything together.

Car has zero flex in corners, turn in is sharp, and it tracks around the corner without drifting off line as the frame flexes back to normal.

This is what I envision when someone says "K-brace". This is similar to the K-brace that comes on the GTs with the PP.

The other 'k-brace' (that some people refer to) is located between the driver's side shock tower and the firewall. It's really part of the strut tower brace assembly. I don't see that piece coming with any of the aftermarket strut tower braces ... only with the OEM Ford STB.

I have an Ecoboost PP which came with the K-brace and without the strut tower brace. I too found the composure over broken pavement much improved when I added the strut tower brace.

I found the same thing when I added Steeda's rear suffrage braces too.

The other "K-brace" attaches to both strut towers and the firewall. If your car came with the K-brace there is also another plate that sandwiches between the k-brace and the pinch weld it bolts to and ties into the cowl up under windshield.

Some cars come with just the K-brace, some with the K-brace and strut tower brace. Seems like Ford believes the K-brace by itself is more effective than the strut tower brace by itself since they don't install just the strut tower brace from the factory.

The GT PP cars do not get an additional brace on the lower control arm like the Steeda one.

^^^ Yes, I was thinking of just adding the Steeda K-brace to my non-PP GT because I actually like the open clean look of the engine bay without the strut tower brace. Plus it's easier to check the oil without the strut tower braces in the way.

Sounds like adding a K-brace only will give better results than just adding only a STB.

interesting. I'm going to invest in some sort of brace for the front end. the car could definitely use some extra rigidity over bumpy surfaces no argument there. thanks for the replies!

Incorrect. Better to have both, if possible, but a strut brace without the K brace does stiffen the chassis significantly.
