Guys, I just noticed that the Ford dealer who serviced my car uses a 5w-40 full synthetic oil.
This is not an issue. I am happy that they use full synthetic. However, the manual calls for 5w-30.
I am shocked that Ford dealer would use engine oil that does not meet the ford spec WSS-M2C913D for our cars.
What are your thoughts on this?
I thought to maintain warranty we need to use the right engine oil but seems to me ford dealer dont care about warranty.
What engine oils are they putting in your GT?

Penrite make a 5w/40 oil that meets the WSS-M2C913D spec.
Don’t stress over the viscosity too much.

Seems it will not do any harm in hot summer conditions and would be useful if you do track days, by the sounds of it in these articles:
