Got about 100 miles of stop and go city miles on my Mantic 9000 ceramic twin disc. Have a rare track rental tomorrow I'm all loaded up and ready to go to. Am I crazy to do this? Back in my hay day we used to swap clutches the morning of the track, take them for a 30 min drive and dyno them. But seems like everyone wants to see 500 miles before any full power.

Opinions?

It’s more about clutch cycling than mileage. I can’t remember exactly but I think it’s something like 1000 clutch engagements. If you were in traffic for most or all of that 100 miles I believe you’re good to go. I also had about 100 miles on mine once it started to feel broken in. It’s almost impossible to actually count every time you release the clutch, especially in traffic, but I’m sure by now you notice the clutch is more predictable than when it’s new. Mine started smooth then got really grabby once it got hot for the first couple of trips, each time it got better and better until it was the same smooth engagement hot or cold.

Clutch held up fine, agree with you that it started to feel broken in around the 100 mile mark.

That said, not OVERLY impressed with the Mantic. Its definitely grabby like any ceramic clutch, definitely not a perfectly smooth engagement (shakes if I ride it too much), and definitely has a chatter at low rpm (below 1500) and moderate load.

I will give it more time to break in, all of this clutch feel was before I went to the track, so I don't feel like I did any harm to it. Pretty sure its fully broken in now, lol.
