Michellin keeps making tires wider and wider

I have 19x10s 275s all around, first set where continentals and fit the rim flush. Second set i went with pilot sports 2 and noticed they were quite a bit wider, they went past the rim a bit but i didnt mind cause i figured free wheel protection! This time around i got pilot sports 4 and its ridiculous how much theu stick out, they look about 2 sizes too big!! Cant imagine the look if i had ordered 285 like i was planning. And yes, on slopes or hills if im going fastish they rub a tiiiiiiny bit where they have never before. So if youre running agressive offsets ps4 are not your tire

I love the oversize rim protection. Just go to tirerack.com and review the tire specs to make sure you dont get too much tire for the size.

Sorry to say, but I think the issue is your wheels, girl.

This is a 285/35R19 on a Project6gr 19x10". The lip on your wheel looks really small, which causes the wheel protector on the tire to look massive. FWIW, the tread on the 285 MP4S is almost exactly 10" wide.

Well it might be my wheel design but theyre definitely wider than the contis and the ps2s

There is often a fair amount of variation for a given size. This is especially true for competion oriented tires as they try to get a bigger tire for a given size (often restricted by the rules).

Tire size lists the width at 11.4 for the 285/35 and 10.9 for the 275/40.

11.4 is the section width (on a 10" wheel) I quoted 10" which is the tread width. Section width changes with the width of the wheel you mount the tire on.

I checked 5 other tires in that size and they all had a 11.4-11.5 section width on a 10" wheel. The MP4S doesnt seem unusual in the width dimension as far as I can tell

I use 325/30/19 tires square on my car lol

The Michelin tire has always been considered a oversized tire, they have a bead protector to them so they sit more bold then other brands that sit slim for instance Nitto or Hankook.
