Will wider tires fit?

My 2019 GT came with black accent package, tires are Pirelli 19/255/40s front and back. Anyone know if 19/275/40s or 19/285/40s would fit on my factory wheels?

Do tire sizes work differently in Illinois?

I assume the wheels are 19x9 +45? If so 275/40R19 will work.

Look no farther than the tire manufacturer’s specs, they’ll tell you the range of wheel widths that their tire will fit. It depends on the make and model when pushing the limits.

Also, just because the wheel fits the minimum spec for width doesn't mean it will be supported well. A 255 tire on a 8.5" wheel will fit but it won't be optimum, no way would I even consider a 265, A 275 minimum is normally 9" but once against not optimum.

They are 19x8.5, so larger than 255/40R19 is not recommended. 265/40 would "fit" but poorly.

No, we just pay higher taxes. The wheels are 19x8.5 so I need to look at wheels as well as tires if I want to go wider...
