Why does a 285/35/19 MPSS cost $50 more then a 305/35/19 MPSS? Better yet, why is the 275/40/19 MPSS $112 less then the 285? I really don't care for an answer, because I'm sure it involves "well that tire was made for this car, so they can charge more.."

Since I'm trying to save $232 with a size variation, would a 275/40/19 MPSS work with a 19x10 +40 OS work on the front of our cars?

I dealt with a similar strange pricing structure when I purchased my set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06's. I have the factory option 20" Foundry wheels (square setup). The stock tire size is 265/35/20. I was debating going a little bit wider with a 275/35/20. When I saw that the 275's were $50 cheaper than the 265's, it was a win-win!

I can't give you a great answer. I'm just going to assume one size is in more demand than the other? Perhaps where you're buying from has 1 in stock and not the other? Then again, Discount Tire Direct had to order my 275's from Continental, so I dunno...

I'd love for Michelin to make a 305/35-20. Why there are only like three tires available in this size yet it is the ideal size for an 11" wide wheel baffles me, but again... economics.

They're $3 more than the 305, over $60 less than the 285... Thanks.

Yeah I fully understand. Its funny because in my search one of the smaller sizes, Clicked on the tire size and instead of the tire picture showing up, which normally happens. A Porsche logo appears, well that was the most expensive MPSS I've seen yet that wasn't a run flat.

Those are N spec tires that are made for OEM Porsche. They go through different tests that are designed by the Porsche engineers.

the premium for the N spec is nuts IMO but its there for a reason.

There are a lot of strange prices like that. Think common sizes are cheaper even if they are larger. 245/45/18 prices are cheaper than 245/50/18 so must be a more common size.

I'm thinking of 295/35-19 in the rear and 255/40-19 in the front. $395/each and $267/each respectively @ tirerack. A bit expensive, but I've been a fan of the Super Sports for a while.

I have not seen people complain about these tires. I personally have zero experience with this model, but have liked Michelin s in the past.
